Checkered Flag MINI

I picked up my little guy last night (still haven't picked a suitable name)!!! Can't post pics right now, but will after work. And Turcicus, you are right - Checkered Flag is totally awesome! I also have to heavily endorse UltraShield of Hampton Roads. We went there right after delivery and they did a fantastic job.

Checkered Flag gave me lots of freebies and still offered the $50 gift certificate for another accessory as well! They were excellent and I am glad I went 2-1/2 hours away to buy the car from them. Simon was great, as was Jason and their manager Bob. The Richmond dealer was completely unenthusiastic, just as described by T. Wish today was Friday instead of Tuesday so I could be out motoring today somewhere other than the interstate!

p.s. I have to apologize for posting earlier that my MA did not contact me when my MINI came in; he had left a message at my workplace Saturday morning, but I hadn't checked that voicemail until Sunday eve...

Awesome Julie!!! Big time congrats!!!! I'm looking forward to seeing pics of it clean (it hadn't been prepped yet when I saw it).

A big ditto on the wishing it was Friday thing - we've got some motoring to do!!!

PICs (finally)

Here are a few pics. I'll try to take more later and do a better job but didn't want to wait too long to get something out there. I'm not quite able to insert them into the message but they are in my gallery.

Beauregard,

Nicely done! Are you loving the sunroof? Haven't seen any of those "popped" yet.

You know, it just seems like he needs a name. And, although your screen name may have some other significance, seems to me that BEAU would be a great name for your new mini! Beau is handsome. Beau is good. C'est vrai, n'est-ce pas?

Does NC really allow 8 letters on a license plate? Geez, Texas sucks by only letting us have 6. (They also make us use a front plate....not that I do. "Breakin' tha law, breakin' tha law!")

I do love the sunroof. He does need a name, although I really haven't decided if it is a he or a she. The only significance to my screen name is that it's the name of the male half of our two English Springer Spaniels (Beauregard and Annabelle). Beau was sitting beside me when I registered on NAM so Beauregard just popped into my head. Having one Beau around the house is probably enough but I do like the name (I'm not very imaginative, unlike so many other members of PW27SG ). Maybe I'll just give my MINI an unpronouncable symbol like Prince used for awhile. Naw, that would be pretty useless. I think I need more road (motoring) time to figure all this out.

By the way, there were 14 miles on the odometer when I picked it up.

GB - nice to have the company! As far as I know, that makes three on the Emden...you, me, and Drew.

(I actually just got hard confirmation that Evie is on the Emden a few minutes ago...the rest was deduction).

Here's a pic of the new addition at Checkered Flag last night at delivery; it was a small room so I couldn't get a very good shot!

And our Minis are enjoying the view of Baltimore this very moment!

My MA tells me it takes an average of 2-3 weeks for a MINI to reach San Antonio once it clears the VDC.

I'm starting to think that, by the time this is all said and done, I will have the longest order to production wait of anyone in PW27SG...

Your sig file says it all. I was kind of thinking the same thing given our East Coast peeps are MOTORING already. But, motorbruce ordered in DECEMBER??? I can't even imagine. I went on the waiting list 4/22 and with a little luck I'll be motoring within four months of that.

So your MA says 2-3 weeks after...??? Hmmm...I guess you are "mid-nation" and maybe that throws things off a bit. Perhaps Texas needs a BMW VDC! Start a petition!

Hang in there Doogs...waiting is hard but it will make the moment even sweeter!

Really Nice MINI, good choice of colors. I have a question. Some of you have had your MINI'S ordered through Mini of Sterling, here in VA. Have any of you had any problems with your MA's? I have left 3 emails with no response. They have in past answered them. I don't call at all and hardly ever email. Last one was in June. I know they are busy, but I am starting to feel very ignored. Just throwing this out to you all for some comfort. Enjoy your new MINI, MORTRBL. Love the picture.
