I'm slowly starting to like the name "Dash" from the movie The Incredibles. We'll see how the name fits when I drive him home Friday!

There goes that Greek/Roman list of names.

crishchun!! You just nailed it! (IMHO) DASH is SWEET. Dash goes with Pepper White. It goes with the MINI. Esta perfecto! I just believe that's how this process works. Don't forget I was going to name my MINI Winston and then <BING!> Jake comes out of "nowhere". I like it. Can you tell?

So nice to finally see someone else booked on the Emden! I was beginning to think that Mary was stuck on there all by herself!

Wow, I'm glad my Mini isn't on this boat...

Can you imagine the scene on NAM if this was one of the WW or NYK ships! The horror, the horror...

If that boat was full of MINIs, or if something similar happened to a WW or NYK ship, this board would go into full meltdown!!

I am on Emden also.

Check out Crishchuns spreadsheet for week 27 and there are a few on there already.

Well, my MA just called to confirm everything and I'm set for pickup Thursday at 4pm. I decided I could take half a day off work for such an important occasion....I just hope work agree with me Andrea also threw in floor mats (without me asking) and the AUX adapter (just the part, I told her I'll do the install). Thursday can't come soon enough.....

I just got home from picking up my MINI (still unnamed). I picked it up at about 4:00pm and then drove home to Germantown, MD from Sterling, VA via Leesburg and White's Ferry across the Potomac. I have pictures but don't have time now to figure out how to post them. When I return from dinner (I have relatives visiting) I'll post more and send the pics. One things for sure though, I do love this car.

Turc -- Congrats on Nitro! He looks splendid. I especially like the "Hello, my name is:" tag! I hear Hawk Ceramic brakes are really good for people with white wheels. It has really low amounts of brake dust I heard.

The Good News:
I talked to MA today and he said my MINI should arrive tomorrow! He said I could take delivery on Friday, the 28th!! How exciting, huh?! I cannot wait!!
Now I just need to get the loan in place! :-O

Crischun... info for the spreadsheet:
Arrival at dealer: 07/25/06
Delivery/Pick up: 07/28/06
Birthday: 2/29 (yes, leap year day!)
Age: 22

2 pm tomorrow!!!! I am leaning toward Buddha for the name of my Mini. A Buddha is one who has achieved Nirvana...and if driving a Mini isn't Nirvana, I don't know what is!

True, but Buddha is a bit pudgy! "Buddha on a Diet" is not catchy either!

I would not be surprised if MINI owners claim spiritual powers for their cars as well!

Correction.... Buddah was not fat at all, he was actually one of the thinnest humans to ever walk the face of the earth. He forced himself to survive on one grain (half maybe) of rice per day. He was able to feel his spine when he barely touched his belly.

I forget where the fat man came from, but am positive about what is written above.

Congrats Beauregard on picking up your Mini!!! I can't wait to see pics. Everyone is starting to get their cars, this is so great, lol.

I went out driving tonight and saw 2 Minis at different times. Both were definetly "motoring" though. One was a yellow S and the other was a blue S convertable. Ahh I can't wait to see Minis when I have mine. I'll always be the first to wave.

Congrats Beauregard!!!!! As for pics, I suggest setting up a free account at a website like www.photobucket.com. You can upload your pics to the website, and then insert the link to the picture in your message by clicking the button up above the new message area that looks like a picture of a mountain. I can't wait to see 'em!!!

Thanks, Red Scooter!! I was so focused on thinking up names.. maybe trying a little too hard. Then this morning at work, as I was surfing the some sites, an ad for The Incredibles showed up on the screen--I saw Dash and the light bulb over my head started going out of control! Just like you said, BAM IT JUST COMES OUT OF NOWHERE! I like it too. This one's a keeper.

OMG if that was the Trinidad or any other MINI vessel, I'd SCREAM and CRY! This whole thread would die.. and eventually all of NAM! ::knock on wood::

Oh man, I'm so excited for you, Chimera! Can you believe it? After nearly 8 weeks of waiting, it finally comes down to Thursday! Please overload this thread with lots of pictures of Basil!

Even if you did know how to post pictures and your relatives weren't over, I'd still forgive you for not showing us pictures. I'd want you to take in all the motoring moments your MINI has to offer. But please do post pics when you can.

Sheenabea, my pickup is this Friday too! Woohoo, pictures of two MINIs in one day. Can it get more exciting??

Oh, and born on a leap year day? So technically you're only 5.5 years old. Just kidding. I think you're the youngest one in our support group!

Woohoo! Can't wait to see pics.

According to our spreadsheet, there is a total of 6 MINIs scheduled for pickup this week. That's a lot of MINI visual pleasure.

Looking into getting a personalized plate for my Mini. I am thinking of going with "Heel&Toe" but the others were kinda funny. These are all available through NCDMV.

GOOD JOB MORTRBL!

I searched the site last night and nada. So I emailed them, named Aaron and that a NAM member had "referred" me!

As of now, we can order these puppies and the look great (if you can live with hidden screw holes). Here's the link http://outmotoring.com/hidden_holes_...e_bracket.html

And Aaron's message:

Hi guys, I just updated the site. The pics are pretty bad and MINI's price is pretty pricey but that's reality. I will place an order for 12 or so and will get them in about 3 days, so feel free to place your order online.

Thanks again MORTRBL! What a great option!

Hey Drew,

I'll go with my gut reaction. I like DOWNSIZE. How cool you can use punctuation. Now that's personalization!

Here's my plate! I'm guessing this will bring a few questions...or jokes.

Lol I am Irish (heritage but have visited and love my "home" country) and I thought about WEE-MINI also, but not as sure about that one.
