Right now my MINI is squeezed into the garage next to my Dad's insanely huge and dumb Cadillac Escalade pickup truck thing.
I cringed when we went to Home Depot yesterday and he parked with the passenger side hanging 2 feet over into the next parking space. I don't think he even had a clue he was not capable of parking properly in the space.
The good news is that he does want to get rid of it and my mom does want to get a new Cooper, so all is not lost.
I like my MINI, it only takes up half of the space! And I try to park next to a wall, giving people 3+ ft until the yellow line! I cringe whenever I note that someone has parked next to my MINI. I try to park away from people, but it's hard where I work.
I've seen friends in the Land Rover Defender circle with stickers that say "Hummer Recovery Vehicle"
I think Jeep ran a special edition (or lots of people had very similarly outfitted Jeeps) that was an H2 recovery vehicle. Four roof lights, raised, off-road tires brush guards, 2 winches, snorkel: it was a REAL SUV not a raised station wagon.
