400 really tough miles...
Hi folks, new to the forum. I've got 600 miles on my car now, 400 to go before I can really use all the rpms. Wow, that's tough! 
I honestly had no intention of buying a Mini. I've driven MCS's before and while I really enjoyed the handling it was never enough to put me over the edge. Well the BMW was dying and I needed a new car, so I took a trip down to the local Mini store just for fun. I really only intended to "play" a little.
I've built "my" Mini online several times and I was pretty detailed about what I wanted. I'm a big fan of classic Rally and Paddy Hopkirk is a hero - hence my car's name. Red/White with bonnet stripes, sport, chrono, and if I was dreaming, the JCW package. Well my wife and I walked into the store and what should be sitting on the showroom floor but my EXACT Mini!
Not fair.
I hadn't driven a JCW car before and I told the sales guy I wanted to drive that one, no other. OHMYGODWHATARIOT! Completely different from the standard MCS and I was completely hooked. The added power, suspension, LSD, brakes, exhaust, the SOUND.... Needless to say I left with my car that day and after two weeks, I've had 600 miles of fun at 5k...wanting to hit 7k real bad.
First autocross is in two weeks and I'll make it.
