Steering wheel impairing speedometer view

4 days now and finally sleeping at night... but still can't get enough of driving, shoot! just LOOKING at my new 06 PW MCSC!

With the steering wheel tilted down both my husband and I are finding it difficult to see the speedometer when we are driving over 60 mph. I really like the steering wheel down, but maybe I will have to find a better position. Do you drive with the steering wheel up or down?

Wheel up, seat down. No problem seeing the tach, and I'm 6'2''

It was designed to look thru the wheel.

People come in all shapes and sizes, so finding the right driving position is both important and may take some exprimentation. The best driving position might easily not be the first thing you instinctively dial in. My ideal position felt a tad bit awkward at first, but now it fits like a glove. I marvel at the way mechanics (even at the MINI dealership) slide the seat so far back when I take the car for service. Maybe it fits them (I doubt it) but not me!

I have a center speedomoter so, obviously, have no visibility problem. However, my steering wheel does clip my view of the top digits of my tach. Not a problem for me, but I can see where cramming adequate views of both a speedo and a tach in there might be difficult.

I say adjust your seat for proper reach of the pedals and steering wheel and use your imagination for the rest. I do believe you'll get used to it, and after a few weeks (or days?) of motoring you won't even think about it.

At first I had the same problem seeing to top of the tach. With some
playing around with the seat and steering wheel I finally put the seat
all the down and that solved that problem.

I always drive with the steering wheel all the way up in the Mini. Even if it impaired the view of the gauges, I still probably would. Just spend a week or three driving with the steering wheel close to the top of the range, after awhile you won't even think about it anymore.

What do you mean, in the center dash? Just watch the digital speedo. I can't see the top of the tach. No biggie, I can see the red line part.

Thanks for the suggestions. I should have mentioned that I have the chrono pak... the tach and speedometer are right next to each other, behind the steering wheel.

In that case, I see your point.

I guess you need to shrink

I have the same problem. It sucks, and it sucks enough that in my next MINI, I will not be ordering the Navigation.
