I liked the original Minis back in the sixties. Never had one though. But back in 2002, a friend, who new that I liked Minis, told me that a local dealer had just got one. British racing green with white top and wheels. It arrived at the dealer on Wednesday, I looked at it on Thursday, took my wife to see it Friday. Her first response... "You brought me here to see that ugly thing". Well, we bought it. She now loves it. It's the most fun to drive. Great car.

 

I don't think it's so much ugly as it is homely.....kinda like one of those 'no nose' dogs. You just can't help but luv 'em.

 

I agree. I have a "no nose" dog (a pug) and can't help but love her! Same goes for the classic Mini. There's just something about it...

I'd actually prefer my car be called "ugly", rather than the more frequent response, "cute".
