RE: Hello from another newbie!!

Hi everybody,
I'm so glad I found this site.
I just took delivery of a 2006 MCS 3 days ago. It is Chili red with black top/bonnet stripes, sport package and has the 6sp transmission. I absolutely love the car! Much more fun than my husband's M3!

I have a few questions:

1. I did not order Mini floor mats - I was hoping they would throw them in! I was looking on e-bay for a set and most of them list 2001-2005. Is there a difference between the 2006 and previous models?

2. I have the run flat tires (all season) on 17 in rims. I am thinking about using these for winter only and getting a new set (rim/tires) with performance summer tires!
Any suggestions on wheel/tire combination that work best for the Mini S at a reasonable cost?

Thanks to all in advance!

Deane

Welcome to NAM! I drove my dad's M3 for 6 weeks before I took delivery of my MINI. The M3 is great, but the MINI is more fun!

Sorry I can't answer your questions, but I know someone will.

Welcome to the MINI world.

Unless they have changed the peddles on the floor, which I doubt, I can think of no reason why the floor mats would not fit. I do believe the difference is the LOGO or style, not the fit.

As for the second question, beat feet over to the "Wheel and Tire" forum. You are going to be overwhelmed with the amount of information you will get there.

The 06 is the same as an 05 except your passenger airbag light has a different symbol and you had diffferent color choices. There were some significant changes before that (bumpers, brake lights, rear view mirror, airbag weight sensor) but I don't think you were looking for a history lesson so I'll stop there.

There are about a zillion (ok, maybe more like a million) different combos for rims and tires and as stated there is a whole forum dedicated to helping you with that (I'll probably be on the same path as you in a few months).

Glad to hear you enjoy the ride, if you love MINIs then you've come to the right place .

Hello another newbie here. I just got my Mini. It's a 2005 MCS BRG with a black top and bonnett stripes, and beige interior. sunroof premium pkg.
sport pkg. cold whtr. pkg. It's the most fun iv'e had with a car.
You should've asked for floor mats. I got mine used and the Mini dealership threw in the mats, just from asking them. Maybe you could try going back and asking for some. Did they give you any kind of deal or freebie when you got the car?

Some dealer seem to think that buying a car from them is a privilege in and of it's self. But it never hurts to ask. Welcome all.
