Interestingly, the automated Ask Mini does state that my baby is in the paint shop and is scheduled for completion today. I did not think the automated system provided updates of the different phases of production. It does not give an ETA for total completion though.

Well, I spoke too soon. My vehicle has been booked for the Liberty, but according to the voyage schedule it won't be boarding until the ship docks in Southampton on March 4. Looks like we may all still end up on the same boat.

Daytime Driving Lights - the low intensity high beams stay on with the ignition switched on (tail lights off)

Pathway Lighting - 40s, 90s, or 150s - When active, driving lights remain on for selected time after high beam switch is activated momentarily

Central Automatic Locking - automaticaly will lock the doors if speed exceeds 10 MPH

Selective Unlocking - When feature is active the first time that the unlock bottun is pressed, only the driver door unlocks the second press unlocks all door locks

Automatic Window - When unlock button is held down, all the windows and sunroof will open.

I took this word for word from the menu of options I got from my MA
Very timely information, I got an email from MiniUSA giving me a chance to select my preferences so my dealer can program them in when they get it.

You can also give them up to 6 of your favorite radio stations as well. Thoughtful.

Porco Rosso,

I am thinking that we will be on the same boat as well! Mine is sitting at the docs and is waiting to go! Its alive Its Alive! Plus all the accessories that I ordered came in today as well! (checkerd valve stem covers, glove box organizer, and sun shade). Up next is the boot/bumper protector, Bluetooth hands-free system, and cup holder.

Anyone thinking about doing some performance upgrades? A CAI is in my future...either a JCW or the Webb Motorsports one....A cat-back exhaust system will follow I do believe.

I'm planning to wait on upgrades. A driving school or two will be upgrade number one...ideally a specifically MINI-focused school if I can find one in the area. After that, I'm planning to run it stock in a few autocross events before looking at upgrades.

After that, most likely some 16" wheels and good tires for AXing. Eventually an exhaust. After that, it depends on if I'm seriously into the G-Stock AX (few allowable mods) or want to do more in-depth modding.

I'm hoping that running stock AX will help me keep the urge to splurge on mods in check.

Any bets on how long it will take the owners lounge to catch up with our cars?

I think that'll happen about the same time Wile E. Coyote finally catches Road Runner.

Well, my MA says I finished production, but said to expect the following: 3-5 days to get transported to the dock, 3-5 days at the dock, 10-15 days at sea, 3-5 days at dock, 3-5 days at warehouse, 3-5 days to get to retail facility...... That's anywhere from 25 to 40 days more!

Paul.

I am getting the invisishield on the front bumper, hood, fogs, mirror caps, and door edges. I will inquire about the back bumper but I don't think its going to catch hell.

You know Wile E Coyote did catch the road runner one time...don't know if you remeber the episode but they were chasing each other as usual but this time as they were running they ran into a series of pipers that kept getting smaller and smaller. When they came out of the smallest end they were both very tiny, so they turned around and ran back through the pipes. Whne they came out the large end...the roadrunner was normal size but Wile was still very small! Wile got all excited and grabbed his fork and knife and was getting ready to chow down on the road runners leg until the road runner bent down and honked at Wile and scared him half to death!

I do not think the kit at my dealer included the mirror caps and door edges. That sounds like a nice upgrade.

Paul.

A nice upgrade indeed. The installation cost was not too bad either.

Porco Rosso,

Looks like a www.minidriving.com is a MINI driving school with classes all over the country. The closest they are coming to me is in June so I may sign up.

Still debating if I am going to do Minis on the dragon.

I'm planning to have a local installer do an Invisishield install soon after I bring the MINI home (the MINI dealer is 75mi away). I figure the dealership is getting enough of my cash for the Driving Light install anyway.

HEMI - yeah, I've seen the Wicks schools, but they don't come too close to Texas. The BMWCCA in Dallas-Fort Worth did an all-Mini class not tooo long ago, and I'm hoping they'll soon do another. If they don't, though, I may roadtrip to one of the Wicks schools.

However I did check the AISLive website and neither the Liberty or the Torrens shows up as of yet hmmmm.....

I see there are 111 cars on the Liberty. I wonder if they are all brothers and sisters of my Mini?

I found the TORRENS call sign to be LADA6, but it still does not show up in the tracking at http://www.sailwx.info/

I've gathered from other tracking threads that the ships don't start sending reports until they're well away from shore.

The tracking info all comes from the ships sending regular weather reports, but when they're in a coastal region there's no need for them to report since land-based weather stations and coastal radar take care of all the weather needs,

So basically, a ship won't show up until it's 1 to 3 days out of port.

Well, you can count one at the very least. Welcome to the LIBERTY, brother!

I guess I was tracking the LIBERTY on its return trip from US. Thanks for the heads up...I won't panic when I lose track of it when it is close to port.

MINIUSA says mine is "enroute" but the WW site has no record of my vin, how else can I check/track? I believe my completion date was 2/21.

You might be on NYK Line instead of WW. See the information in this thread about NYK:

Thanks, Porco, looking at that thread .... now I'm sorry I asked. I don't want to turn this into an obsession. I can only goof off so much before I get fired.

Porco and Paul,

Can my MINI hang out with yours....... cause we are on the same ship! Things changed on the WW site for me and now it has me listed on the LIBERTY. Looks like we set sale on Friday 3/3 and arrive in NY on Sunday the 12th! Your MA will know for sure but what port do you guys get off at? My dealer is a few miles from Baltimore BUT mine will come from NY.

Oh yeah...almost forgot...I got dibs on the window seat!

HEMI: Strange that your Mini deboats in NY instead of Baltimore. Probably won't make much difference. Mine has to wait until 3/18 to arrive in Charleston and then a long ride to Texas. Sure hope the kids get along. It's almost two weeks cramped up on the LIBERTY. I know I'll be anxiously awaiting their arrival!
