Greetings from the great frozen north. My name is Jim Davis. I just purchased my first Mini Cooper S. What a wonderful little car. I haven't seen very many Minis here in Montana, but would be interested in meeting a few owners if they happen to read this. I am a member of S.C.C.A and follow autocross. I would like to compete the car this summer if I can figure out what class to run in. I am very pleased to have found your site, and look forward to posting.

Thanks to all for your kind replys. I live in Great Falls, Montana. That would be the "north central part of the state." Remember, we are one of the largest state in the U.S., so it helps to pin-point where we are. Located about three hours from Glacier National Park, and about 130 miles from the Canadian border, Great Falls is a high plains community, on the eastern front of the rocky mountans, and is located on the Missouri River. The Population is only about 40 to 50 K people. Our local industry is primarily agricultural, with Malstrom Air Force Base and a large medical community.

My Mini is a 6 speed 2002 MCS Chrome Yellow with a balck roof and stripes. I bought it used recently with 17300 miles on it. As best I can tell, it is equipped with the "premium & sport packages". The car is extremely clean, and equipped with a aftermarket Borla catback exhaust and a foam air filter. The wheels are stock 17's, although someone has replaced the tires with non run flat units. This begs the question, should I get a spare, and is there suppose to be a lug wrench and jack? You could sit a long time waiting for a ride in this country for help. Is there a space saver available for the 17 inch wheels? Anyway, these are questions for another foum. I Love the car. Zoom Zoom and thanks to all.

Do you have a vanity plate on your Cooper S? I am looking for a Montana vanity plate pic.

Cheers

Welcome! I have done several autocrosses with my last car. I should get back into it...
BTW: Why not put about 100 bolts into the front tires, and find a frozen lake?

Sorry, no vanity plate yet.
As far as lake racing,I think that's more a Minnesota thing. We spend more time just dodging gophers, which will look REALLY BIG in a Mini!
