Hello everyone!

Just introducing myself ...

Am waiting for my MA to e-mail me the Deposit Form so I can get going on ordering Stevie / Logan. Haven't decided on a name yet ... may have to see him, or even drive him, first before I can make a final call.

* waves hello to NAM *

Welcome to NAM! Hopefully you won't have too long a wait for your precious Stevie/Logan once you get him ordered.

Ah yes, went to grade school with a guy named Stevie Logan (or was it Larry Hogan?). Any way, welcome aboard. Plebeian White welcomes your Regal Grayness.

Earl,

I am in the Lone Star State. I should probably add that to my Profile somewhere ...

Everyone,

Thanks for the welcome! Have enjoyed lurking on NAM these last few weeks, as I was making decisions on MC v. MCS, manual v. automatic, options, packages, etc. Very helpful! Looking forward to participating on the boards, and I am SO EXCITED to track my order, and of course, take delivery.

(Been driving a 1993 Toyota Corolla LE for over 13 years! Sad to part with a car that has been a part of so many life changes and life events, but am looking forward to creating new memories with "Stevie" or "Logan".)

Wow ... that was fast!

I was fully expecting a two to three month wait, as that is what I had been told by a couple of different dealers in December ... and I also read about this "factory shutdown" in January.

(Speaking of which, can anyone confirm that this shutdown is taking place, and if so, what are the dates?)

Was also ready to pay the extra $500 that one dealer had mentioned if I took delivery after March 1.

Sent in my deposit form this morning, and got this e-mail reply back from my MA:

"The production number for your MINI is [snip]. It looks like it should start production in the next couple of days and should be complete some time next week and should be here around the 2nd week of February as long as there are no delays. If you decide that you want to make any changes it needs to be in the next day or two as your MINI is about to change status to where I will not be able to make any changes."

WOW! That is a lot faster than I anticipated. Sounds like the dealer had a slot already for an MCS, and I am basically taking it over with my specs? Does anyone have any insight into this?

(And I know, I am sure there will be some kind of delay. That's okay. This is still happening a lot faster than I thought it would.)

My car came much faster than I thought (4 weeks from order to delivery). Maybe you'll have similar luck.

I also came from an old Toyota, mine was a '92 Camry.

Hope your car gets here soon.
