Wow, that was amazing timing for you, Larkin. I placed my order on 12/30, went into production on 1/16 with a completion date of 1/27. My mini went into the paint shop on 1/22 and as of 10:10 A.M. today, is still hanging out in the paint shop. Steffanie, I wonder if you and I got delayed a bit because we originally placed the order with gray spacecloth only to find out that the supply had run out. I hope that I like the gray/black leatherette (I have had cloth seats forever!). Larkin, have you entered your VIN at the shipping tracking URL: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do ?

Yeah...I entered my VIN on the website, but nothing came up. Maybe its at the carrier, but has not been scanned and put on the ship.

Just called our dealership and added window tint and the foglight blackout panels to the Aero kit. Should look sweet on Pepper White.

How did you find out you were scheduled to be done on the 27th?

G8RMNI:
Your start date doesn't directly relate to the completion date. Call 866-ASK-MINI with your production number and they can tell you the status of your car as well as the expected completion date.

Me

But as others said, thats not a direct indicator.

None of us know which ship we'll be on. Well... except for those who are already ON a ship. We're just hoping for certain completion dates & ships

It's a mixed blessing. Cool in that you have something physical to look at while you're waiting for your baby to arrive but frustrating because it makes me obsess even more about the status.

Next decision, which swaybar to order. Hmmmmm?

Well

Looks like my projections were correct.

Looks like my Mini Cooper S will be riding on the Maersk Tide and hitting shores in South Carolina on the 4th of February. Quicker than I ever thought.

Anyone else on this boat?? Looks like a lot of you are gonna be on the Liberty. I now agree that when Ask-mini tells you the completion date, it is more than likely the date your car will set sail.

I officially entered the Body Shop today. It looks like the scheduled completion date of Jan. 30 could get pushed back to Feb.1......no big deal.
Told me to call back on Friday and they'd have a better idea. Nice to hear that they've actually started to put my Mini together.

As of 7:15 A.M. EST, the automated ASK-MINI system reports my mini is in assembly. I'm hoping that if I call later in the day and talk to a live person that the car will be finished and maybe even released to distribution. Hope to make the Liberty sailing on 1/27.

I really don't think I'm going to make The Liberty. My completion date is set for 1/28... just one day after Liberty sails. If thats the case, I'll have to wait until 1/31 I think. Such a bummer.

Timing is everything......it creates good fortune for some and disappointments for others. My order went in on Dec. 14 just in time for the halt in production. Getting updates and hearing about the progress of other's makes the waiting alot more fun. But, what's really important is that in another month we'll ALL be motoring.....and it's just around the corner!

Ditto.

I couldn't stop myself from calling ASK MINI. The automated service said I was still in the paint shop. The real person said I was in the paint shop but since I'd been there since Monday, I'd likely moved onto early assembly.

Just called Ask-MINI and Emma is at the port waiting for a cute sailor to pick her up. That should put her in good shape for the Liberty on Friday. Hopefully, tonight or tomorrow morning I'll be able to get tracking confirmation on the ship.

Emma is a great name Hopefully we'll be able to see pics of her on the Liberty!

Anyone else have theirs already named?

Mine is Grimace.. after:

I actually hate McDonalds but I was testing out names and mentioned Grimace and it just kind of stuck. People have been calling him that ever since.

Stefanie:
That just fits so well with your color scheme . My wife came up with Emma from Emma Peel of the 60's British TV show 'The Avengers'. My garage will be chock full of blue Minis in a couple of weeks! You might find that your Grimace makes it to the port tomorrow as you were one day behind Emma I think (1/16 start for Emma, 1/17 for Grimace). Best of luck.

I've always liked the name Emma.. plus it just seems so British-ly appropriate

I hope (desperately hope!) that mine will make it onto Liberty. It would be such a pity to know someone on the ship and NOT have my baby on there

I found out today that my CR/W MCS is in final assembly and should be completed as early as tommorrow. This waiting is just killing me. Does anyone know how long it typically takes from completion to be loaded onto a boat. The DON CARLOS is leaving on the 1/31 for the west coast and I am hoping that mine is on it.

Thanks,

Shane
