The Liberty is scheduled to sail on 1/27. I am also scheduled to be done on 1/27 and am hoping that means I will be onboard the ship on 1/27. My mini is also in the paint shop as of this morning. Wise choice not to have kids, they would only pester you to drive your car! My wife and I are spending our kids inheritance as she got her Mini 6/05 and mine is on its' way.

There may be hope we all get on the liberty....

MotoringFile says production is moving fast! http://motoringfile.com/2006/01/23/2...ule/#more-4608

Could this mean our cars could roll off the line fadter than expected? Lets hope!

^^ GREAT news!

To those who sent me their details, I've sent them along to our Liberty liaison. Here's hoping we're on the ship AND he finds them!

My completion date was said to be Jan 18 - but it was actually done with assembly days before and loaded on Elektra on the 18th. I am starting to think that the completion date is the loading date for your MINI.

Elektra just passed the Azores and is halfway to Halifax, first port of call....

You can get an image of your vessel at the WW website. Here is Elektra -

Car Build Started Today Too

Jason

Greetings from a fellow Baltimorian. Looks like there's a few of us here. Will be interesting to see if our cars end up on the same boat and arrive at the dealer (Towson) together. Ordered 12/17/05 Start Build 1/23/06

I'm really trying to be good and only call ASK MINI on Wednesdays. I'm crazy-go-nuts with all you east coasters who will have your cars so soon.

Bill, I can't hate you at all seeing as we're practically neighbors. Sort of. I lived in Princeton Jct. twice -- once as a wee tot and once just out of school with my new Miata (in case you saw my Miata thread) -- and my in-laws live there now. Isn't everybody from NJ at some point?

OK. That managed to distract me for all of a paragraph. I think I need to go shop for some accessories or something. Or will a garage full of things-that-don't-have-a-car-to-go-in-or-on-yet make it worse?

There's a reason we call these "Support Groups" after all.

Is anyone else a little underwhelmed by MINIs tracking?

Its never up to date (mine still says scheduled with no date even though it was in the paint shop today). Its also not specific. On the website it should show us all the little steps. Its not hard technically. They should all run off one database. In fact it seems illogical that they all run off different systems. Sad

Got home from work today and my Whalen and Ian's autoup/track mode DSC circuit were sitting in the mailbox. If only I had the car to install them in.

I think it makes things worse. I have new wheels sitting in my garage and they're torturing me.

Woohoo

YEAHHHHHYAAAA!!! My MINI has been released to the carrier and is awaiting transportation at the port. Wooot WOOT. Looks like mine may make tomorrows boat.

SOUTHAMPTON 01/25/06 ----> CHARLESTON,SC 04/02/2006 MAERSK TIDE

May not be travelling on the Liberty with a lot of you guys, but the MAERSK TIDE gets to SC 6 days before the liberty. I just may have the quickest order turnaround ever.

^^ Woah! Thats awesome! When did you order??!

I just called ASK MINI (I think I'm becoming obsessed) and Grimace has moved onto the paint shop.

The Ask MINI guys are getting more and more friendly every day. The first time they just looked up my info. Yesterday they asked if this was my first MINI then we had a discussion when I told him it was my 3rd. Today, he asked what I had on order then wanted to know my full Spec. I wonder if they have a log of how many times you've called and talk to the obsessed ones more..

Called ASK-MINI, and mine's in the paint shop too (as of the last update they had last night).

I'm watching the production video, and it does look like they can do the interior installations, underbody, and engine in less than a day and send the car on its way!

I ordered on January 10, 2006.....lol. Baron MINI is K.C. basically told me that I called at the perfect time and if I ordered on that day I would have the car by late Feb. They said, otherwise I would have to wait until their next order went through. My car went into production about 2 days after I put in the order. Good thing I knew exactly what I wanted. There wasn't much time to make changes.

Wow. Thats an amazingly quick order time.

I just went back and checked my "I'm getting a new MINI" thread and saw that I ordered on Dec 19th. Thats slightly disappointing. Its ok though. Its exciting to see everyone moving through the build stages and getting loaded onto ships. They'll be here before we know it.
