New mini on the way

Hey all,

I got lucky scored a cancelled 06 MCS PW/B, CVT, cold, prem, sport, gps, hk, + more. It will be here sometime next week....

So what is the deal with the cordoba leather? The only downfall with the car is the leather choice. Does it suck? Is is less noticeable if the floor mats are black? Does anyone out there have it?

Also, I still have the option to change out the wheels and tires..any recommendations?

Can Bonnet Stripes be added? Are they painted on or just a decal?

I have so many questions....

Also, does anyone have the GPS? my FX35 had it and it rocked, i can't say that I used it that much, but it is nice to have it if you need it.

First of all - welcome aboard!! You lucky dog not having to wait for months to get your MINI - a very Merry Christmas you will have...

Ours does not have the NAV system, so I can't help you out with that. Our first MINI had Leatherette - we loved it - had no issues. Both of our MINIs now have Leather - mine is a year old, Mike's is about 7 months - no issues so far...

Bonnet stripes can be added afterwards. There are a TON of vendors here on NAM that sell them if you don't want the standards that come from MINI. Use your "Search" function at the top right of the page. You'll get more info. than you asked for - LOL!!!

Tires and wheels - again - a wealth of info. here using the Search function.

Of course we want to see pictures when it arrives...

Donna

The tan leather looks GREAT in the PW, I needed the synthetic leather because our MINI doubles as family mini with my wife and 2 y/o, so I have grey and black. I saw that combo in person and it is what sold me on the PW. I have heard some talk about the leather getting soft after a bit, but it sure looked great in the showroom. CONGRATS on avoiding the wait and happy soon to be motoring.

I don't have the leather, but I checked it out at the dealership and it was really nice.

Grats on getting the MINI and welcome. Always great to have more rodents around.

Welcome to NAM. Lets see
  1. Cordoba must be new.
  2. For wheels, if It were me, I would get the cheapest they sell now and immediately go aftermarket with new tires. Maybe keep the OEM wheels for snow tires or sell them
  3. For stripes, like other said, there are a million vendors, look at the vendors here.
  4. NAV is a touchy subject. Some ppl love it. Others hate it. For $2K its way to expensive when for $1K you can go aftermarket, probably get a better unit, and move it from car to car
Anything else, plz ask

don't forget, if it is an S, it's not the CVT, but a 6 speed, "paddle shifted" automatic transmission!

sound like a nice one, good luck with it!
