1st Post - MCS on order ...

Hi!

I've already begun to learn from this forum and wanted to express my appreciation to those who maintain it.

I have on order a MCS in BRG/blk and have been assigned a production number for week 40. I've tried to restrain my option fever; but have succumbed to Sport Pkg (w/ 17" Web-spokes), LSD, and the (admittedly expensive) JCW air intake kit. I'm told to expect delivery in the first week of November or thereabouts. With luck, this may be soon enough for a bit of late-fall driving on the Blue Ridge Pkwy.

Just wondering: do MINI drivers wave when they pass each other on the road?

dcwatts, welcome to NAM. Your MCS on order sounds great! Now you have made the committment and can relax and wait for its arrival. The time goes reasonably fast, and the excitement builds and, before you know, its here! Meantime, you can learn so much on this board and meet some great fellow enthusiasts.

I've read that many do. And if when you wave, and they don't wave back, just raise your other hand too and act as if you were stretching.

Ah yes, the art of cool.

And John, you are absolutely right! I've already learned a great deal here, so thanks once again to those who make it possible. vBulletin is an excellent choice for this forum!

I agree, having a ball refreshing the "new posts" section like mad as of late heh =P I've learned a great deal of info you wouldn't get from the dealers in the past < week alone.

Welcome to NAM dcwatts!

Great choice on color . I just ordered my MCS on Friday and am also in week 40 production.

As far as the waving to fellow MINI drivers, I hope that happens. I own two older BMWs and enjoy flashing lights/waving as I pass other old BMWs. I'm looking forward to the same with my new MINI.

Welcome dcwatts! Good point about expressing our gratitude...not done enough. In fact, a million thanks to all who make NAM a great place to be!!

As for waving...yes we do wave. Go with that...you'll make more MINI friends this way. If someone refuses to wave, don't give up. The odd greeting you do get will make all your efforts worthwhile.

Congrats on getting your MINI ordered!!!!
