Potentially dumb question - but how do you know at which port of call your MINI will exit? I see the Maersk Teal is stopping in both NY and SC. My MINI is destined for MI. NY is closer, but SC isn't THAT much further, I guess. Is there some kind of logic or mapping as to which port services which dealers?

I'm another west coast week 37er... i found out my MINI is now awaiting transport at the port... i also checked the WW site, and my VIN isn't listed either yet... so maybe they weren't loaded yet, or possibly another shipping line? guess we'll just have to wait and see...

First time I saw it was on my dealer order paperwork.

I'm not sure how to find out which port your is due to arrive in. I just knew I was closer to Charleston and that is where my last MINI arrived. Ask MINI may know.

Jonnaro, make sure to go to Customer Centre/order tracking then auto cargo and put in your whole VIN. I don't believe MINI uses anyone else for shipping besides WW.

BTW, WW shows mine to be loaded on the ship.

SB is correct- if you look up the tracking info under customer centre - cargo tracking- auto cargo, then enter your VIN, it will show you the port that it will be offloaded at.

I am on the MAERSK TEAL as well... how long will these cars stay in port before they are loaded for terrestrial transport?

I just checked the WWL site, and the Maersk Teal shows that it has departed Southampton. Yet when I check the status of my VIN on the site, it does not show that it was boarded.

However, the MINIusa OL has been updated to show "en route" instead of "awaiting transport".

So - does your VIN tracking on the WWL site show boarded on the Maersk Teal?

Yes, and I am watching the Solent Channel AIS. The Teal is rounding the Isle of Wight at the moment.

Very cool - thanks. Looks like despite NY being closer, my little car will be getting a trip to SC. Hope it enjoys the weather while it can!

How do you know that? I can't figure out how to locate my ship's (the Honor) exact location. (Like I NEED to know, OK???)

For those of us on the Maersk Teal - it's interesting that if you look at the tracking by booking number (GBSOU353754), it shows the 340 MINI's that were booked on the ship.

However, only a small portion of those show the status updated from "Received at Terminal" to "Loaded on Vessel". Since the ship has sailed, I'm hoping we are all really on board! I called MINI toll free number, but they had no idea about any of it.

I found a page with an experimental display of AIS info, go here and click on Solent AIS Ship Positions and then "click here for live Solent AIS ship positions'.

Looks like my MINI did not make the Maersk Teal as it was booked. I'm now booked on the Courage, which doesn't leave Southampton until Oct 5th, and arrives in Charleston on Oct 16th

That means at least two more weeks of waiting!

If I were in your shoes, I don't think I could take it.

I was on some other ship, then the Mearsk and now it says the Courage. However, after a call to my MA, apparently my car isn't even shipping WITH WW, but it's on the K-Line. After some checking, K-Line says they have it and the boat will dock on 4 Oct.

Someone is smoking something because both carriers say that they have my car. Who to believe....

Maybe I got lucky and that is the case for me too

My MA is out today - how did you find out it was loaded on KLine?

Anybody at the dealership should be able to look up the car and verify what shipping company it's on. They were able to give me the Bill of Lading that K-Line uses so that I could call them and verify that it was on the Emden.

It's very aggrevating to not even know where it is.

WOOOHOO! So I guess our cars are all just a bunch of hooligans and just a tad bit roudy for WW.

We can track the ship on this site:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shiplocations.phtml

Just do a search for Emden.

Questions : where is the "Distribution Center"? And how long will it takes at this stage? My car is somewhere in the Ocean. I'm yet to find out which ship/shipping company it is on :( without asking my dealership guy. I feel bad for asking them too many pesky questions.....

I believe the distribution center is somewhere near Charleston, SC. It can take a two or three days to get there, once the boat arrives. Then, transport to whereever your dealer is located.
