Sunroof Q?

I have searched, but searching on sunroof comes up with a few threads.

The sunroof on our newly acquired 2003 MCS is squeeking when opening and closing. Can I just lube it up with something (WD-40ish..)?
Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Mine sometimes squeeks when open and I go over a bump. Some folks on NAM recommend WD40. Some folks I know say WD40 is too light and runny. I was told to use silicone spray instead. For now I would rather live with the squeeks rather than worry about extra gunk in the crevices. If yours only squeeks when opening or closing then maybe that's not so bad.

White lithium grease - however you need to get it UNDER the tracks - kind of tricky to do and keep it clean. That takes care of travel squeaks.

I have one that won't go away, but I'm working on it. When I put the roof to popped from open, the mechanism isn't actually tight, the rear levers actually have a tiny bit of slack, that squaks over large bumps. If I go to popped from closed, it's very tight, silent.
