Apparently my little MCSC has entered the great state of Colorado. And, hopefully, made it to the dealer.

The folks at Schomp want a day to get it prepped and said I can go pick it up on Wednesday! Joy! Heck -- I'll go help prep it if it means I can pick it up tomorrow!

The....wait.....is......almost.......over.........

Great dhagberg! Sounds like you will be having a good Wednesday.

Well, I finally picked up my MCSC on Friday and I have been top down motoring since then...well except for Sunday when the remnants of Rita came through. I have taken pictures but they are at home and I will post them tonight. I was not sure what all would be dark blue when I ordered the Sunset interior. The seats are orange/dark blue, the doors are organge and dark blue and the insides all but the top of the dash and steering wheel are dark blue, even the carpet is dark blue. Looks great. I'm a happy camper...err motorer.

Brought 'er home!

Here she is -- the car, that is. Baby Anna has been home for a while, almost 11 months now:

Took a drive up Boulder Canyon to Nederland last night -- just past the 100mi mark. Just 14 more days to go at that rate!

I tried, I really did, to get the avg. MPG up above 30 and had it there for a bit. But it's amazing how quickly it plummets when you start hitting the "fun" pedal...

That is one good looking MINI! Now I see why mine wanted to stay with yours as long as it did.

Very nice. The orange is really striking -- it looks like almost the same car that I test drove, convincing me to buy an MCSC in the first place. And I could have bought that one except I didnt' have the courage to go with orange...

Now we all need to pitch in and help UUNetBill cope while he waits. It shouldn't be long now!

Drove off the lot at around 8:30 pm. Too dark for pictures. Tomorrow will be a day filled with motoring and picture taking.

Definitely a *miuch* different ride than my wife's Cooper Cabrio. I love the whine, I love the exhaust note.. I love everything about it so far.. with all of the 40 ish miles that are on it.

Wasn't able to get the wheel arches done in body color due to some miscommunication when I was discussing it with my MA, but I'm ok with that. Definitely not a deal breaker, and after waiting this long and seeing it, I just couldn't face potentially another week of waiting, and knowing that it was there.

I can't wait until the break in period is over with so I can run the engine a bit harder.

We're a two Cooper family now!

Well, the latest news is that the car is in, but the deal is dead. A trade offer fully $7,000 less than what we paid for the current MINI just 8 months ago forced us to rethink the whole new car/depriciation thing. . .we figured that losing almost $1,000 a month on a car (that had already taken a $3,000 new car hit when WE first bought it) didn't make sense.

SO - there's a loaded Cool Blue '05 MCSCa sitting in Denver waiting for a nice owner to give it a loving home. And to make it worse - the '04 is on the block, so we may be MINI-less here in the next week or so. . .funny how things can change so quickly, no?

Well, Mel spent most of the winter hiding from the salt and snow in the warm, dry garage. I just cracked 5,000 miles last week. I've also got a 50% shorter commute, so it's not like the miles will be piling on anytime soon - except for the MOTD trip, that is!

I had the flywheel replaced to get rid of a rattle noise - well documented in other threads. I also had some interior trim pieces replaced for different kinds of rattling noises. Strangely enough, my '02 had less rattles than Mel has.

I got a 15% pulley shortly after the break-in period was over. LOVE IT!

I finally got the orange boot and bonnet stripes on last week. They sat in the garage all winter too.

All in all, things are good! Thanks for asking!

I now have 11K on my mini. The dragon trip racked up a few miles. I had Waylen from Way Motor Works put a 15% pulley, belt, and plugs and a drop in Alta filter at the dragon. I'm going in for the first service tomorrow. Only problems are rough idle at cold start and gears seem to be hard to go in first and second. Other than that it going great.
