Seats and Mirror

I had a could questions left unanswered from my last post that I really would like to know:

1) Does anyone have the Gray Letherette w/ Gray Letherette interior? I would like to see some pictures and get some feed back about the color and look of the interior like that.

2) About the Auto-dimming rearview mirror; How well does it work? Is it worth the money for it? Should I just get a manual mirror?

Well any help on this would be great.

1. I have the black leatherette, so I am no help on that one.

2. It works okay, I think my rear tinted window confused it. But it was part of my package, couldn't live without the trick winscreen wipers.
Really they are cool.

Cheers.

Well I can't help with #1, but I can help a small bit with #2.

My MA didn't seem all too thrilled when we were going over my order. He was really helpful in telling me what was worth spending on and what could be skipped. Considering I was on a limited budget, I easily skipped this option. I can't give any actual street experience with the feature though.

I have the auto-dimmer, and I like it. It's nice to never have to worry about flipping the mirror. My windows are also tinted, and the sensor still adjusts correctly. But realistically, I wouldn't label it an "essential" feature.

The "essentials" include accelerator, brake, clutch, steering wheel and four tires.

Leatherette and rearview...

I wasn't aware you could get gray on gray, but I have black/gray leatherette and it's great!

As for the rearview, I opted with the basic one at first (regret I didn't get the last package--it's a HUGE bargain)! I since replaced it with the homelink rearview to the tune of $190 bucks. Any package that includes homelink is the way to go!

I have the auto-dimming mirror. It's nice and works well, but I wouldn't call it essential.

Thanks

Hey guys thanks a lot with all the help and the pictures you posted. The mirror is definately something to consider dropping...maybe put toward a JCW Air Filter or something. Anyway, the interior according to the miniusa website on the Build Your Own MINI Cooper S is actually labled "Leterette: Gray w/ Gray door" which is the only other non price chaning letherette option. I think I'll bug the closest MINI dealer until they get one on the lot and go down and see it in person. It might be like the body color dash, which I fell in love with on the lot and not by the pictures.

the website is wrong, no more grey door panels in S's

do a search, there was a discussion about this a while ago....

coopers get grey, s's get black unless you can find one already built with them, good luck.
