I think I have OCD for my MINI. I check constantly for the keys in my pocket and have a weird way of checking the garage for my baby often. I look for gifts for my baby more then I do my gf

My wife got so sick of me giving her updates as to the progress of our MINI. So sick! She limited me to one update for her a day... It was pretty funny.

Now that we have the car, though, she keeps wanting to drive it and know everything about it!

 

Mine just rolls her eyes and says, "That's all right, honey. I'll drive the grown-up car and you drive the go-kart."

Hmmmm. This gives me an idea.
How about instead of a daily update you ask for a daily "upgrade"????

Interesting how one word can open up BIG possibilities!
You could go from stock MINI to cruiser MINI in a few months.
Just hide the credit card bill or check book during this time.
Or Cash is good!

By the way, even after tons of mods already done.
I have not been slowing down much on the spending for my "baby".
Funds to toward replacing worn mods like tires/brakes/fluids, fine tuning suspension, getting specialized wheelsets or getting more track time/driving school. A huge front mounted intercooler or turbo kit would be nice too.

 

I love it!!! It's so good to know there are others out there who are completely and totally bonkers!!! I talk to friends now and again who have co-worker or other acquaintances who are getting or have gotten MINIs. I ask them, "Do they talk about MINIs all the time as if they're totally obsessed." They reply, usually surprised, "Why yes, they never shut up!" or "Why yes, in fact they even go outside during lunch to dust and polish that thing!" Seems to be a pretty wide-spread phenomenon among the MINIac population.

It's true, though, you'll get no relief here...only encouragement!

My wife was pretty accomodating of the obsession, I would say "I'm gonna take Jennifer motoring on Bayshore, ok?" No destination, no shopping, no errands....just a drive. She would even come with me half the time.

The one day she asked why the name Jennifer, and I was forced to explain that it was the name of my first crush, and also it is jet black like the hair of Jennifer Connelly, my secret love.

She no longer accompanies me on those brief motor outings.

Wow, Jennifer Connelly is, indeed, a pretty lady. Why does the name sound familiar? Movies, I presume... My Love and I are in the Netflix grouping so getting out to the movies are "special events." Ahh, but with DirecTV's high definition television, who needs the movies? ;-)

 

You could really drive you wife mad by ordering "The Italian Job" on NetFlix.
