Ah, what we do for our cars

to get them, i mean, what we do to get them

soon as i get this part time job im going on the waiting list, at the scottsdale location:smile: even tho i could go to an out of state dealer and get it faster, the 4-6months waiting list is enuf time to put together a nice down payment from my pt job. what do you think, 10k enuf of a down payment to get the monthlies below 300?

Anyhoo, many sleepless nights doing research on everything from stock performance and reliability, to full carbon fiber body, to now having mapped how exactly what upgrades im going to get over what time line. I CAN FINALLY REST!!! hehe, i thnk i foudn the car for me

Welcome aboard! And, yeah, you had better save all your pennies (perhaps some "couch fishing" is in order), because once you have the car, you will want to keep getting it, uh, presents! Yes, your MINI will probably have its own Christmas stocking.

You know on the Mini USA site there is a payment calculator... so you can put in various amounts and see pretty closely what your payments will be. Working for a Mini is a very worthy goal!

i guess it depends on what you get... if your like me and want more than you can afford... 10g is a good downpayment.. if your conservative in what you get... thats more than enough!

heh well...

stock with cwp and dsc is good enuf for me be doing plenty of mods, and the job im looking at will be about 700/mo after taxes, so at 300 a month for a car payment thats another 400 bux every month for as Jonny L so eloquently put it 'presents'

mmmm... i can picture it now, cf body chrome roof and white suede interior!

Pardon me for asking, but is this part time job in addition to a full?

I didn't put down NEARLY as much as i wanted to on my MINI. I wasn't even planning on getting it til September so i'd have thousands more sitting in the bank to throw down... but i was left with no choice but to get another car when i wrecked my miata... so i caved in and picked up my mini. Although i'm paying alot more than i would have if i just got a slightly older used car to hold me over, i'm very glad i got the mini because it threw me back in with a group of car enthusiasts that enjoy alot of the things the miata clubs were into. Twisty scenic drives, autocrosses, dinners where we talk about our cars for hours.

BUT, i'm paying $500 a month on it. Why? I have an awful habit of constantly throwing down more money than i owe to pay things off faster. Insurance, dentist bills, rent, and now my loan. But i keep putting myself in situations where i can comfortably do it, and still have plenty of emergency money "just in case." And my interest rate is fantastic :P

its a part time job
