Hi guys

I've been reading posts in this forum for a couple of weeks now and this is basically my first post. I'm a member of MINI2 community and I wanted to join the NAM..I believe many of u are also members of MINI2..

anyway...my name is Leon and I'm currently located in Melbourne, Australia.
I drive a black/black MC..

While I'm here, I'd like to ask you a few questions...I'll probably be going to Boston at the end of this year (2005). I'm thinking of buying a Mini Cooper S 03/04 model there. What I'd like to know is, from your experiences,:

1. what are the MAJOR problems with these models?
2. What's the price range I should be expecting?

I know the questions are relative depending on many factors...but I'm sure you guys are able to generalise them..I'd really appreciate your help

cheers

Can't offer you too much help on your questions, but from one new guy to another....WELCOME!!!! I just joined as well, and have been a lurker for a while too...you've got the color combo that I ultimately want...good luck on your search for a MCS when getting to Boston, I'm sure you'll find one you want.

Dave.

Hi Leon!!! I drive a Cooper, too, but if I were looking for a used MCS, the first thing I'd want to know if the stumble and yo-yo software issues have been sorted out in the car you're thinking of buying.

welcome aboard leon! i'm not sure what the depreciation value of MCS's is down under, but here in the US they are excellent. take my car for example

2004 MINI Cooper S
Chili Red/White w/white bonnet stripes
#1 Premium Package
#2 Sport Package
#3 Cold Weather Package
Panther Black Leather
MSRP 24,649 US Dollars
MSRP 32,054 Australian Dollars
i've had the car for one year, perfect condition body and mechanically, has 14,000 miles or 22,526 km

i could prolly get at least 20k US dollars. but odds are you won't find a used MCS for under 20k unless it has no packages or upholstery options

check out www.kbb.com for a good idea of prices in the boston area. all you need is the zip code for the area that your gonna be in. hope i could help:smile:
