Just ordered!
Hi Everyone!
First of all, thanks for all of the wonderful discussion everyone has posted to this site. I found out about the NAM forums about a month ago, and since then I've enjoyed reading everyone's opinions on everything Mini. It was a big help as I got ready to order my new Mini!
Now I guess it's time for me to stop de-lurk and say hello!
On Thursday, I took a trip down to Mini of Nashville and placed my order! No name for my soon-to-be car yet, but here are the specs.
MCSA
PS/B
Exterior Chrome Package
Premium Package
Cold Weather Package
Convenience Package
Stock 16" wheels
DSC
Xenon headlights
Front Fogs
Rear Fogs
Leatherette seats
HK Sound system
Aux input
I'm still wavering on the iPod adapter. The dealer quoted $390, which is a bit more than I want to spend. I mean, that's about what I paid for the iPod itself. So I'm either going to have to talk myself into it or try a self-install. In that case, maybe the Denison Ice Link is the right choice. We'll see.
So now here I am, wearing out the Mini Owner's Lounge while I wait ever so patiently for my Mini to arrive. It's going to be a long 6-8 weeks!
p.s. Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead tonight!

welcome aboard pulsetn! congrats on the MCSa.the pure silver/black combo is awesome! i agree with johnny, save the cash on the ipod adapter and just get an aux input, you don't have steering wheel controls, but then again steering wheel controls for the ipod shouldn't cost as much as they do.
p.s. the LSD prolly won't be available for the automatic, i'm sure a gear head can explain the reasoning, or it could just be the same thinking that made MINI get rid of the anthracite headliner last year

and dont worry- stay around these forums and time will FLY!!!
(oh and dont forget to call AskMINI @ 1.866.275.6464 b/c they are the most up to date... the O/L is usually a few days behind... for example- Samantha (my MINI) arrived at my dealership on the first and the O/L still has her at the distribution center...)

Thanks for the tip on AskMINI. My car is "Scheduled for production with no confirmed date." Hopefully that will change soon!
How exciting that Samantha is at the dealership! Hopefully prep time will be short. Let us know when you get her picked up.

Andy,
IMHO, the iPod adapter is much nicer than the AUX Input. Changing tracks with the wheel is so much nicer.
Hold off until you come home for a visit, MINI of Pittsburgh, charges $250 installed.
Oh and Welcome to NAM, and congratulations.
Can't wait to see "whatsitsname"
Steve
p.s. if you do the install yourself it is not covered under the "New Car" warranty.

Hey Everyone!! This is a great site!! Very informative! I'm lookin for fellow mini owners to cruise with here in Nashville. I live in Hermitage! I gotta '06 S hardtop and I love it! I know a lot of roads around here to cruise that are a lot of fun!! I love that any question I have about my mini can be answered here! Thanks to everyone who posts all that great mini info!!!!! Love Ya!!!
Congratulations, Pulsetn! We ordered on Thursday, and I'm living in the owner's lounge too. Our build has already been updated. Hopefully things will keep rolling forward. Until then, NAM will help the time pass.
Actually Quesera, I already have my Mini. I picked it up at the dealer on May 16, 2005. Can you believe I still remember the day?
It was a long six week wait checking the Owner's Lounge and the shipper's website, but it was well worth the delay to get just the car I wanted. It's been a great 20 months and 40,000 miles, and I'm still loving my Cooper S auto! Every now and then I am tempted by the thought of having an R56 stick shift, but I truly enjoy what I have today. Good luck with your wait! NAM will be very helpful to fill the time.
And hi igottamini! I used to live in Hermatige, but now I live over in Bellevue. My favorite road over in Hermitage was Central Pike from Old Hickory out toward Mount Juliet. It is a nice twisty piece of road. I live very close to the Natchez Trace now, which is a great drive, too. The stretch between the start at highway 100 and around Lieper's Fork is a pretty fun piece of road. After that, it starts straightening out, but there are some neat stops along the road, too. On the negative side, there are a lot of bicycle and motorcycle riders, and the park rangers patrol the road rigorously, so you need to keep your eyes open.
There are also some nice roads in the backwoods parts of Brentwood. I'm actually laughing at the thought of anything in Brentwood being called backwoods, but hopefully you know what I mean. There are some roads between Hillsboro Pike and Granny White Pike that are fun to drive. They are close enough to my work that I can drive out there during lunch. Johnson Chapel Road is a nice short stretch, and there is a road that connects between Murry Ln and Hillsboro Pike that is fun (I think it's called Manley Ln, but I can't remember for sure).
Do you know of any other good roads in Middle Tennessee?
