Hi! I took delivery of my '05 Cooper S last October. Hyper Blue w/Black roof and black stripes, premium/sport/cold packages, and the cockpit chrono set up (so I have the tach and speedo on top of the steering column and oil temp/pressure stuff in the center).
I have always liked the look of the new MINIs. I was lucky to find one optioned how I would want one after my previous daily driver ('94 Subaru SVX) was totalled in an accident. Lucky for me I was uninjured, but the other person rear-ended me at 40mph while I was stopped behind a bus...
I have so far resisted any mods to the Cooper as my other car is reserved more for the track, and the Cooper is my primary means of transport. This past year I had a near lethal case of "David Wright disease"* and could not afford for my Cooper to spend almost one year at my mechanic's getting various repairs and tweeks ("as long as you're working on X, why not take care of Y too..")
*called DWD for short, this individual started by just needing to replace a simple clutch cable, ended up dismantling nearly the entire car, and 3-4 years after starting the clutch repair gave away all the seperate bits and pieces and hasn't been heard from since. I'm sure there are Triumph fans around here who can relate

But like I said, I am recovering from a near fatal case of DWD. I am on several other forums like this one. My story began when I was researching valve adjustments for my 914's engine. I knew I didn't have the technical skills to do this safely, so I consulted my mechanic. I then caught the "as long as you're at it" bug, and soon enough the engine is out of the car, cylinder heads sent to Kalifornia for refurbish, new Mahle p/c set is in the mail, and the transmission is apart for new synchros. These forums can be lethal to me
Of course this thread is useless without pics. I'll put some up ASAP

And more pics would be a definite plus, especially for me! I'm looking into that same color combo, so as many outdoor sunlight/shade shots as you can muster, post 'em!

D'oh, I hate that. My current daily driver is covered with a white film as well... Oh, for the snow to leave!
(Of course, I love the snow; even driving in it is fun for me, but I don't have a garage to keep my cars right now, so it's killing me!)

I like the snow too. I am AMAZED at how well my MCS handles in the white stuff. This is my first car with any type of traction control, so playing wiht that has been alot of fun. But, I can't wait to enjoy my sunroof either. I also like my seat warmers, but not having to use them every morning will be a nice change of pace....
Welcome to NAM, Geoff! Heh heh heh, just to whet your appetite for mods and fun-runs, please check out the MOTD Forum (MINIs On The Dragon) https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/motd-home and check the Midwest forum, more particularly the Indiana club, https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...splay.php?f=96 to join the caravan headed to the Dragon! Very nice MINI!

MiniClo -- I've had the chance to meet quite a few of the MINI CCI members. I'm hoping to take a drive with them this weekend. As for the Dragon, that might have to wait for another year. I have a few events already scheduled with the other car that sits in my garage
