New MCS Ordered

I ordered a MCS last Friday. I have a March build date and it should be delivered to me by the end of May.

My specs:
  • Hyper Blue/White with bonnet stripes
  • Premium Package
  • Sport Package w/ Web Spoke Wheels
  • Convenience Package
  • LSD
  • Rear Fog Lamp
  • Gray Lethearette
  • Chrome Line Interior
  • Int. surface Hyper Blue
  • Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi
  • Sirius Satellite Radio
  • Security System
  • Arm Rest (was told it is not available yet but may be by the time my car comes, end of May 2005)
Just wanted to introduce myself to my fellow NAM Members and thank you for all the good info I found on this site to help me spec-out my first MINI. I live in the Sacramento CA area and have been driving a full-size 4x4 pick-up for the last 9 years. I no longer need a truck and am looking forward to a radical change.

You ordered yours from Niello? I was there just the other day and they wanted $2500 or something dealer markup. Were they willing to negotiate that with you? If so, who did you talk to?

CONGRATS! Who is your motoring advisor @ Niello? That is where I ordered my car too. If you need something cool to do in the mean time (before you get your car...) check out our local MINI club... Gold Country MINI

Niello is asking a $2,495 mark-up which I paid. $995 of the $2,495 is a mandatory dealer installed protection package (windsheid visor, mats, boot mat wheel locks...). I knew the cost before I went there, I also considered buying out of state. I chose to buy local. They ran a credit check and ordered my car without a deposit on Feb 11th and was told I would get a March build date. My car was scheduled for production after just a few days and Ask-MINI reports my car will be complete on February 25th. I am now agonizing over whether or not I should get the JCW tunning kit.

My MA is Crystal, She has been great so far!

Welcome to NAM, Rick! Love your specs! If you are willing to forego the JCW warranty, you can certainly modify your MINI for less by going to aftermarket tuners. Now the wait begins....

Congrats! The wait goes by fairly quickly, but you realize that the longer you wait, the more HOURS you spend sitting on NAM watching the forums.

Rick- I read about the markup that you paid at Niello and I thought it looked weird... (too much) so I called my MA... and got someone else... Well my NEW MA told me the truth... haha the joke is on me! The price you got was right. and a thousand more than what I was told! So I am bummed, but oh well. I cant wait, and since I know that my car is on the way, I am too excited to care! Congrats on your baby almost being done! Mine will be done the day before- but I ordered it earlier... so congrats on being hooked up! And as you know, WindMeUp is right- I am sure you are on here as much as I am, wishing you had your car to go motor in! Congrats on the new car!

It's not too late to buy at Classic with us and save!

Rick,
Check your PM for a message. It's never too late to buy at Classic! You could still have your MCS by May and not pay over MSRP. The $2,495 is a rip off; you're paying sales tax (and registration fees for as long as you own the car) on it. Your $995 worth of equipment is worth about $150 dollars @ MSRP.
They don't have any of your money so you're free to look elsewhere.
Check with Macaid and see what he's going to save!

It may be too late for thefuturequeenofnebraska, but not for you!

Charlie

Buy from Classic Mini PERIOD! They charged me MSRP w/no markup at all. When I place my order this month, I will accept delivery in April/May. Plus I get 20% off of all accessories (excluding JCW). Choosing classic Mini is a no brainer. Like NIKE says, "Just Do It"
