New Member saying hey

Hey all,

I don't have a Mini (yet), but have a newly found interest in them. Not sure what it is, but they seem like such a cool car; and with the S/C, they're right up my alley (currently driving an S/C'd 4Runner).

Seems like a good group of people here. Off to look around.........

Mike

Hey new member and welcome to NAM. I think I hear the scream of a MCS calling your name.

Mike,

Welcome to NAM

The MINI is much better than a 4runner When I have to drive my daughter's SUV I hate it.

Drive the MCS and you will love it

By the way what part of San Diego are you in?? We are going on a drive Sunday with the MINIs and Minis if you want to ride along send me a pm.

They oughta have that serguns generals sticker on the MINI it is dangerus to health, family and property they oughta just outlaw it all together. Here is why:

1 Health= A MINI will cause you severe psychological disorders ie Obsessive/ compusive disorder. Risks to your right foot (Thousands are on crutches because of the inability to use restraint with the gas pedal). Finally sight problems are prevelent size/aspect ratios are out of whack.

2 Family= Well I used to have a family but traded them for mods

3 Property= The only room in the house I maintain and/or clean is the garage

I hope this helps.... Dont become a MINI head

Thanks for the welcome, guys.

Earl,

Thanks for the invite. Wish I could go but family duties call (or if it stops raining, I'll be out flying planes) Sounds like a ton of fun, though. Back in my crotch rocket days, some of the best times were spent on weekend rides. My uncle has a Viper and I've been lucky enough to be able to spend some time with that group too.

I'd love to find someone local who'd take me for a ride in one someday, though. I'm up in Escondido. BTW, newbie question. What is the difference between MINI and Mini? Classic v.s. new?

Right,

OCD is what's causing me to even look at the Mini's. Wait, OCD is a medical/ psychological disorder. Shouldn't the treatment be covered under insurance? I wonder what PacificCare would think if I sent a receipt for an MCS in.... minus the copay, of course .

The worst thing about all of this is that my 4Runner is getting a little long in the tooth, so I planned on replacing it, but I really have the bug for a sports car. I could keep the 4Runner since it's paid off and buy a Mini instead of another SUV, which I need for my RC plane hobby. Hmmmm. Must resist........

Welcome to the club man. Heed this warning from a fellow R/C'er, driving your MINI will become a hobby in it's own. It's pretty much taken me away from racing now, but I'm not complaining.

Mike,

MINI is new and Mini is Classic

Escondido is not far, just 1/2 hour drive, and we go through there on our runs to the north.

We try and have breakfast the first Sunday of each month in Escondido Mini's and MINI's.
