Loooong time Old Mini, Austin America, MG 1100, Sprite abuser here, this is my first New Mini, and things are certainly... different. Actually, a much better driver than my '60, to be honest, just weighs almost a ton more. Surprisingly easy to work on, for the most part.

Car came with a duff alternator, so I got to dig deep early on. Have also done a water pump, harmonic balancer, clutch and throw out, control arm bushings, ball joints, bearings, all the brakes, and found out why fifth gear stopped working (nut came off the gear stack and fell under the #5 shift fork). Now working on rebuilding the rear calipers, whose boots had sadly perished. Lucky they use hard chrome pistons, so no pitting. Had a sunroof blockage which flooded the car, had to remove and dry out the carpets - good opportunity to deep clean it and do a new headliner. Other than that, uneventful.
