R56 Getting stuck in 6th gear

Getting stuck in 6th gear
In the last couple of days I've been having an increasingly hard time getting out of 6th gear. I have no problem getting in or out of the other gears but 6th seems to be getting stuck.
Also it only seems to happen if i'm in 6th for a while. Meaning if i go into 6th and come out of it relatively soon there is no problem. But if I coast in 6th for some time then it gets stuck.
There is no grinding, it's just hard to get out of it, and when I do get out of it it's a quick motion, not a slow draggy motion.
This is on a 2007 R56 with 88k miles
Also, I don't know if this matters but I just started working at a new office at the end of last week, I'm now primarily doing back road driving, some areas seem to be more heavily salted than on my old route.

I'd check the shift linkage and cables first. Make sure they're not hanging up on anything, make sure any bushings are still in place, make sure the cables are staying where they're supposed to, and see if you can check them for damage or water infiltration or some such.
Usually problems only with one gear are not due to the clutch. (Not universally, but usually.)

As for me 6th gear is by far the smoothest gear shift of all of them, I look forward to the diagnosis since we both have an 07 MCS.

Well, the problem went away on its own, didn't happen Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. I still took a look yesterday to see if there was anything out of place. But it's hard to diagnose a problem, when there doesn't seem to be a problem to diagnose.
I saw nothing odd, cables look fine, and i'm shifting smoothly again.
So for now i can only assume that some debris had gotten into the linkage and has now been dislodged.
