Problem lowering front subframe

I'm in the process of removing my front subframe to replace my control arm bushings and I've run into a bit of a problem. I have the subframe ready to come off but it is catching on a part that I am not familiar with. I didn't see it mentioned in the articles I've read. I've attached some pictures of it. What in the world is this part, and does anyone know how I can get it off? Thanks in advance.

What is in your picture is your gear shift linkage.

Looks like the gear shifter linkage on the auto transmission.

Do you have a Cooper S or Base with automatic transmission. Can you un-clip it.

Here is the part for the Automatic transmission on the R50 MINI Cooper "base" and R52 MINI Cooper "base" (similar to the Cooper S auto) , its shipped like that with the cable at the top( red clip), but the top is the part looks like your hold up near the transmission. You can see it connects to the shift base that is located in your MINIs center console then connects to the transmission.
