New and looking for answers.

Hello everyone. I have a 2002 cooper s. It is a FUN car to drive but all of a sudden it won't start. I'm on a tight budget and need to figure out what is wrong rather than buying a stack of unnecessarily parts. Any help?

Welcome to the forum. Search the first generation section for help and if you don’t find what you need post specific questions there.

While I am no mechanic, I would be shocked if anyone could diagnose the problem without a lot more information. Is this the first time trying to start it after a winter break without a charger? Was it running ok the last time you drove it? More info would be helpful.

It was running one day and the next day I went to start it, nada. Had been running just fine. Dash lights work, radio works, turn the key and not even a click.

Still having issues.

Got the scan tool. Took care of a bunch of codes. Found 2 broken pins on the ews. Can I put in a used one and tune it to the ecu?

Cool, the module will have to be coded. The Schwaben Scan tool last time i used it could not code higher end module. And that is theft so either the dealership or some third part hack software.
