New MINI guy.

I'm new to MINI's. Contemplating buying a 2002 with 70,000 miles. By all appearances it's in great shape. Shifts nice (5 speed manual), runs smooth, steers and rides nice. 60 mph is tops, though. Anything I should look out for or beware of before I purchase? Thank you.

Hello and welcome, check for rust on the back taillights and underside if its been up north. Post up some pictures and some guys will give you options, as myself.

When you buy a car that old I'd be sure and have at least a couple thousand to spend on it in the first year. Figure you're only gonna pay$3-4k for it but cars like that are gonna need stuff unless the owner has documentation of what he spent money on and when.
