Heating and Cooling

I just recently bought a 2010 S Convertible R57 with 70k miles on it, I bought it from a guy about 33 miles away and brought it home, It ran great, has good pickup and handles really nice and tight. Noticed when I got home it smelled like it was burning some oil, boy was that hood HOT!!! Prior owner had told me he replaced the Hood scoop. Checked the Oil and need to put 2 quarts of oil in the car, drove it on the weekend and it seemed better. I was thinking about getting a heat shield and saw this from Mini Mania:

Wanted to see what you guys thing of this, also I was debating whether to get the P3 Guage that's a plug and play item:

This is $399 but it has built in many items in one for $399, what do you think? https://www.p3cars.com/mini/p3-v3-ob...uge-2007-2014/

Welcome, there is a ton of info over in the specific forums but this has come up pretty recently is a few threads so lets see what i can throw in here...i will edit post with threads.

Personally i run the scanguage 2 that i got from way motor works and have the cravenspeed mount. 3 screws, rest plug in play.

You are able to clear codes with this, that is why i went this route and it is cheaper.

Scanguauge - https://www.waymotorworks.com/scangauge-ii.html

For the turbo blanket, read https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...feed-line.html while you are at http://waymotorworks.com/ look at their turbo blankets.

For maintenance on these here is a great place to start - https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ed-gen-ii.html

My best piece of advice would be to check your oil every time you fill up or at least once a week, for a while till you see what rate of oil burn/leak you might have. You dont want to hurt the timing chain running it low on oil.
