I got my 2016 Mini Countryman S All4 R60 N18 Motor, a few months ago at the tail end of 2019, after many years of a mini being on my radar.
Until now I have been mainly doing general maintenance as I am pretty sure it made it to 55k without anyone changing the air filter since it looked like a bird's nest inside...
I have this and next week off, so I decided to pull the trigger on getting things more in line with stage three requirements / more maintenance (upgraded turbo, intercooler downpipe, intake, spark plugs, gaskets, etc.)... as I already got the ECU tuned by Mario for this recently.
When starting the upgrades/maintenance mentioned above, after I took the stock airbox off, I noticed what looks like a connection to a hose but, looked below and around (as best I could) and didn't see a disconnected hose. This is located behind the intake manifold, below the stock airbox located at the back center of the engine. I had not gotten a CEL, or any other errors come up on the obdII reader beforehand. However, I was thinking perhaps this just wasn't there. If anyone knows what this is / where it goes... so I can find it if its there or buy a replacement hose if it is not... please let me know... if not, worst case I got to practicing posting pictures for my first post...
yeah it is a blocked inlet. it goes no where and nothing plugs into it. Remember, our mini engine is shared with another car maker and perhaps they use this inlet for something specific in that country.
Thanks, one thing down... now all I have to do is start putting Humpty Dumpty back together again... Luckily a fresh batch of parts came from you all today...
