I just sold my Abarth 124 Spider for a 16 Cooper s . I miss my spider that car was a blast.
now I have the mini with lots planed
I already put in a CAI. I would like to get a little more aggressive exhaust. I cant stand how high up the stick shift is. Is there a way to shorten it with out spending 200$ on a adjustable short shifter
Cosmeticlly I want to have the windows tinted, black out the chrome ,get new wheels ,lower the car ,and I really need a new head unit.
And every day a little more gets added to the list of things I want to do.
After the tint I really need to figure out if the radio can be changed. This car came with the basic headunit. I've been eyeing the Chinese android units but I dont see anyone who has used them on here and 600$ seems like a big gamble.
I should add this is the 4th Mini in my family, the first one for me. My father has had 3 different Minis going back to when the new minis made their debut. He has been trying to get me to join the team ever since.
I've been on the hunt to replace my abarth since I had my son and my wife wouldn't let me drive him around in a roadster.
Ive been looking at GTIs and minis but got really nervous when I heard that they were both considering getting rid of manual transmissions BLASPHEMY! Cars like this are meant to have 3 pedals. So that got me really looking more seriously. I'm disappointed that this car is a 4 door but this was all I could find in a cooper s 6 speed.
Anything else I should add to me to do list to get the most out of this car and make it feel less like a station wagon?
I came from a 2005 RX-8 (which I LOVED; thinking about it still brings a tear to my eye).
I am also used to the shorter shifter. If you find a good option (not just cutting it =P), let me know!
Welcome, MINI is fun to drive also. Good luck on the mods, first thing i would do on the F55 is tint the windows. Makes them look better in my opinion. We have an F55 here and that is the first thing they did.
I looked on your site all I could find is the adapter thing for 50$. My issue is not with the throw but the height of the shifter.
I'm tempted to take a dremel and cut like 3 inches off the top.
Yeah the adapter is the most cost effective to shorten the throw. But if you actually want to shorten the stick the Craven we have will do that as you adjust it down.
If you do cut it you have to weld it back together or something to keep the top shape so the **** will still attach.
Hi Dan! Sorry, but when the kids come along, you need a practical one, for the family. I am sure at some point you will be able to add another fun car! Make this one the best you can, until that day!
It is a Mini. It is a stick. Accessories can make it more sporty for you!
Congrats on stepping up to your family needs! And for acquiring a Mini, that will do that!
Welcome into the NAM family!
My wife has a new 2019 BRG 2 door Cooper S (MT - yeah!) (and thus my entry into this forum).
My car is a 2013 Miata Power Retractrable Hard Top.
The alternative to the Mini was a large SUV - so we kept our old MDX for the 17 y/o kid and if needed for hauling, storms, dogs, etc.
I'm thrilled as I have 2 fun to drive MT cars but I feel your pain (sorry for the blasphemy).
I like driving the Mini a lot and love it's quirkiness and uniqueness. It makes me wonder why so many cars are boring and generic.
Great styling inside and out), but I LOVE driving the Miata. It ruined me for anything else!
I will be blacking all the chrome out soon. I love the new mini wings. I was worried they wouldn't be the same fit but they were perfect except the one on the back the indent is slightly bigger than the new logo.
Welcome to MINI. That A124 is absolutely gorgeous, but I may be biased as a FIAT fanatic. The MCS is still a unique, great driving car. Enjoy!

I know what you mean! Found a Volcanic Orange 6MT with the JCW exhaust on Friday and it sold on Saturday. Jeeze! First time I've seen a factory JCW tuned MCS, I didn't realize they gave you JCW badges. 0.o
I hope they figure out their emissions nonsense soon and bring back the manuals, supply is seriously limited.
