I mean, that's really it, I had instaleld at helix yesterday afternoon... what a world of a difference. I'm not sure I shift faster, but the feel is 100% better, this is what it should feel like "out of the box"

My mods may not be extensive yet for the Cooper, but this is my favorite as of yet - mostly because unlike a lot of the mods, i feel this every single time i shift.

awesome

just 39.99 plus 1 hour labor

yeah, had i known better i probably would have done exhaust at the same time...

well, maybe not, i like to do them 1 at a time so i appreciate them for a month or so before i do another

it is very worthwhile, you'll definitely LOVE it

The helix ss kit doesnt change the part that you see in the car at all - so anything that fits on the stock shifter will fit on this.

the helix piece is just something that goes into the underside of the transmission for a 40% reduction i think.

I dont have an aftermarket **** (might get on) but I can definitely get anythign that goes with the stock shifter

I ordered a Rogue shifter which is similar or the same as Helix. Rogue has a shifter for '04 MINI's. I haven't installed it yet since my MCS isn't due for a couple more weeks. Here is a link to the Rogue.

I'm waiting for the MINI Mania's short shifter for 04, because it comes with a cover. It should be out soon.

I thought Helix, Rogue, MINI Mania, and Mini Madness all seem to have a similar design with 20% reduction. Is there a change for the 04?

Try this website! It's for MINI Mania short shifter, but essentially the same design as Rogue, Helix, and MINI Madness.

From the Helix web site:

"It keeps the shift **** in the proper place, and shortens the throw by 34%."

I'm enjoying my first week with the Helix short shifter. Dare I say, it's the shiznit-o-bamsnipsnapsap!

Would a Whalen **** improve the feel of the Helix short-shifter or be counter-productive. Has anyone tried it?

I talk to Eric fairly often and he said the 04 short shifter should be ready in about 2-3 weeks-ish. As soon as they're available we have them on our site....

I have the Whalen **** along with the Helix short shifter. I think the Whalen **** contributes the shiznit-o-bam to the shiznit-o-bamsnipsnapsap.

thanks outmotoring for the info. I understand that the boys at helix are busy, but I am excited for the short shifter. I am about to install an intake in a few weeks. I just dont want to wait anymore. That seems to be the story with my MCS.. wait for delivery, wait for extra spending cash to get some mods done... wait for the stuff to be shipped. I ready to play.... sorry all for my short little vent session. ok, I will look for it on your site before I call Eric and buy him anymore. Im done now thanks kids for reading!!!!
