Hi and welcome to NAM, Hattie!
Make sure the tires are all running around the same pressure, as the 06 Mini does not have sensors in the tires, but has wheel speed sensors and when one or more tires are low, you will get the tire light. If after doing this and resetting the tire button, Turn on the key, press the button once and it should go out, if it does not go out and stay out, you make need to replace a wheel sensor, as they do go bad.
Bring these type issues to the gen 1 area, as that is what your Mini is. You will get much more help there.

Welcome. I reset it by turning on the key without starting the car then holding the button until you see it flash once then start the car and it usually goes out after a minute. Sometimes you can do it with the car running also. And check out the owners manual it also has directions.
