2012 Mini Countryman All4, 120k miles

Hey all,

I'm a former Cooper S (05 6sp)owner looking very intently at a 2012 Countryman. 120,000 miles, 6sp manual, $8k.
I'm more or less ok with the buying price, but those are a lot of miles to have already been driven...
The carfax report shows a pretty regular schedule of maintenance at the St. Louis Mini dealer, but there isn't much mention of the major Mini items of concern.
Along with the routine "checking" of major systems, the only areas of importance that seem to have needed service are front brakes(78k), rear brakes(115k), engine oil leak(78k), drive belt(68k),
and the most recent service at about 120k was:
"Maintenance inspection completed
Oil and filter changed
Engine/powertrain computer/module checked
Turbocharger checked"

With "maintenance inspection completed" occurring 15 times across the 120k miles, and no serious issue attention being reported, can I assume that the car is in good shape...or should I assume that it's a ticking time bomb with regard to transmission, power steering, clutch, etc.?

See if you can find an independent Mini mechanic in your area to perform a pre-purchase inspection.

It should have had a cam chain and guides at 100K, if not, you will need to do it! Expensive, if you can not do it yourself.
Keep us posted and when you get one, post up some pics!

Not sure if Turbo on this car was included in extended warranty, but you might be in jeopardy on that expensive fix. High mileage All4's would scare the crap out of me.
