What should I know?

I saw that a local place has a 2016 MINI COOPER S COUNTRYMAN ALL4 for sale. It looks like a fun car, but I am a little scared to find that there are things I should have known ahead of time. I don't know a lot about these, other than the extensive reading that I have done the last few days. Many seem to love these, but I have seen some info online that implies they may have quirks, issues or high maintenance/repair costs.

I am wondering what should I know or consider before thinking about buying this? Any real advice for me? (go for it? run away fast?)

I'd start with a full Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI) from a well qualified indy mechanic. Service history, is it coming off a lease or have accidents?

As I stated recently in another similar thread, wouldn't buy a used R60 unless I had plenty of money or DIY skills to repair most things. They are pricey to fix compared to many other brands of cars.

Repair record looks clean based on carfax, but I don't have plenty of money or the DIY knowledge. Thanks for the input.

From: In the here and now, for now.
At 45K some things will be coming due, serpentine belt, depending on how the nut behind the wheel drove it, brake pads, nearing time for total fluid (PS, brake, gearbox, coolant) flush and replace, all normal maintenance. These cars require timely attention to the details most drivers totally ignore on their drive 'em and forget 'em appliances until it's too late. Mostly everyone herein subscribes to oil/filter change at every 5K.
My co-pilot has her own '15 R60 and she loves it. She spec'd it out on line and in 4 years nothing more than normal maintenance. Thank goodness those ######(!) runflats are getting close to being replaced.

It looks as if the oil and filter was changed regularly with 4000 and 7500 between changes. It looks as if the spark plugs were changed at around 44k and the brakes and rotors just shortly after. From what I can tell it was pretty well cared for with regular service. Of course, with a manual you never know if someone was beating up the clutch or not.

'What should you know?" How to open your wallet when it comes time to repair things. As Minnie noted, repairs are a 'bit pricey' when it comes to MINI's.
