Hi from Boston, 1st MINI!

Hi everyone. I always wanted a MINI but in my line of work I need something more practical in New England weather. I was finally in a position to purchase a second vehicle, so of course, I got a MINI! It's a 2006 Cooper S Convertible with about 130k on the clock. It needs a LOT of work because it sat for about 12 months without so much as being started after spending the beginnings of its life as a daily driver. I have to dig more into it to know what I am really dealing with but in the worst case scenario I would be willing to part it out... time will tell!

Welcome to the forum. First gen convertibles make great second vehicles. Hopefully you can get the issues resolved. The final years of the first gen are (in my opinion) the best years of MINIs and are worth the effort.

As small cars, convertible, non-autonomous cars and manuals become extinct, I am going to enjoy my R52 as a second vehicle as I pass others in their soulless autonomous pods.

Post some pictures and let us know of your progress.

It is a manual, yes. I'll post a build thread in another forum. It's going to be a long process. Heres a pic or two to show you what I'm working with at the moment.
