Looking at this Mini
Hello Everyone! I am currently looking at picking up this Mini Countryman. I have a 2018 Maxima SL and I want something that is easier to get in and out of and does not have the rubber band transmission. It's a 2014 with 23,590 miles on it has navigation etc.. Hope fully things work out and I will be an actual member of the group. Thanks in advance, DJ

Normally I would think it would be a big reliability downgrade going from Japanese to a MINI, but considering just how bad Nissan is now, especially with it's CVT, it will likely be a push, if not a bit of an improvement. Just be sure to get a pre purchase inspection from a good independent mechanic and a clean Carfax before you buy it. I also second the extended warranty. However, I would look into getting one from a reputable third party company and not just take what the dealer offers. Good luck, and welcome to the club!

Thanks for the welcome guys. The Maxima seems very tight and the Clubman I sat in at a local dealer has more room behind the wheel. I have 3 bad discs in my back and a full left knee replacement so I need more room to spread my legs while driving and the Clubman had that I can only assume that the Countryman will be easier to get in and out of. The car is on it’s way to my brothers dealership as I post this. The CVT in the Maxima makes for an annoying drive a slow speeds and the intelligent cruise control randomly breaks for no reason. It’s a nice car but I always loved hatchbacks and the Mini is smaller and should be a lot more nimble. I am 6’2” 230 pounds and I hope the seats in the Mini are good for long days behind the wheel as I plan to do door dash and instacart for extra cash. I will post more pics once I pick her up.
