Has a rear strut brace, not sure if it’s jcw. Not sure if it’s a goodie but it has cloth seats and no cruise. And Damn this thing is quick....

Hi and welcome to NAM.
Show us some pics when you get it back together.
It is good to see another not scared of wrenching on their beast!
Congrats on finding a nice JCW R53!

It looks like the crank position sensor o-ring may be leaking. It is on the front, below the waterpump on the engine block, close to bell housing.
Your Mini looks really nice and I hope it serves you as well as mine has.
Make sure the low speed on the fan works, while you have it apart, as this is the easiest way to replace it! The OEM one I got failed in a year, the after market one still works great!
See if your injectors have the blue plastic and that will tell you the are the JCW 380 injectors. As these were dealer installed on your year.

Yeah one of the pluses of this car was the po had just done ball joints, tie rods, Lca bushings high pressure ps hose and fixed a bunch of oil leaks, but still has residue. It is however, missing the jcw calipers on the driver side. It’s all back together and running now so if that cps is leaking, it’s gonna stay leaking.
