Greetings from Alabama!

Bought my daughter a 2012 Mini. Of course as soon as we got it in the driveway a few things pinged. 1st was that my daughter couldn't get the key to come out so she put brute force on it and popped it out. After about 15 minutes of messing with it, I got it recognized again and is working normally. Not sure what caused it. Now a P0108 code popping up. I don't even know where the MAP sensor is at this point, but will find it. I look forward to learning more about this car.

Hello, welcome. Get the schwaben scan tool we have and you will be good for checking codes on the MINI. +1 realoem is a good place also.

Welcome from Atlanta. I'd find a good shop that actually works on MINIs and get a diagnosis as there could many different causes of your issue. At worse if you can bring it over to our shop if need.

Thanks for the welcome and the suggestions. I went to the realoem site and saw the diagram. But I can't tell from that if there is something on top of it that prevents me from seeing it. It is kind of crowded in there. I have a good scan tool that gives me the codes. But for each code there are usually a couple of things that could cause it. If I find the MAP sensor I'm going to debug it using a voltmeter as suggested online.

Thank you!

She had a 2005 but some guy hit her and totaled the car. She is fine thank the Lord. Bought a 2012 and it had an issue on the 2nd day after we brought it home. At first I read the code wrong thinking it was a P0108. I wasted time running down the map sensor. Re-read the code P0118. I went ahead and ordered. The site said it is the same thing as the oil pressure sensor, so that is what I really ordered. We'll see if this fixes my problem of rough starting any time, cold or warm.
