Nuzzo Motorsports racing Mini's at Alabama
#1
Our Mini S racecars will next compete at The new Barber Motorsports Park race course in Birmingham Alabama May 16-18. This is a televised event, see Speed Channel site for the broadcast schedule. If you have a new Mini in good shape come to the track on Friday and Saturday and you may get a change to get your Mini on TV. We may be shooting a special segment on the Nuzzo Motorsports racing Mini's and if this accually takes place we will need a Mini or two to include in the piece. No Guarantee's we will have all the logistics worked out by then, but we are trying. In any case come out and enjoy the park ike setting of this brand new facility and support the Mini Racers throughout the weekend.

I look forward to seeing you on track at Barber. However, I'll be working a corner, will have to get there early, and will be parked on the back side of turn 15. Maybe we can get together at the lunch break, but it's a tight schedule and WE WILL stay on schedule. Chili Red, White Roof, Union Jack on top, white wheels. I'll be the guy wearing white.
For those who have not been to BMS, this is perhaps the finest road racing facility in the country. It is a very technical track with lots of elevation change with blind hills and corner entries. Pro drivers like Hurley Haywood and David Donahue tell me they absolutely love the place. The track is 45 feet wide of seamless asphalt.
BMS is landscaped to park like standards with interesting sculpture scattered all about. Giant ants eating life size motorcycles and their riders, huge dragon flies and spiders, and to pay heritage to the true and original owners of this land, a couple of Native American statues. Go to the
Barber Motorsports Park web site for a glimpse of the place. However, the web site does not do it justice. There are no grandstands. From most spots around the track, spectators can see 75% of the track. So not to many bad seats in the house.
If you can't be there, be sure to catch the coverage on Speed in a few weeks.

The rain this morning made for less than ideal conditions. I did not get out to the track today, but yesterday I watched the qualifying rounds and that Boxter was fast!
I had such a great time as the guest of Nuzzo Motorsports this weekend and I wish them the best during this racing season!
Thanks Tony, Mike, Shane, Tom and the rest of the guys at Nuzzo Motorsports!

In this mornings race I watched the #20 car stay right with the winning Porsche & the 2nd place TC Kline Z4 BMW ( wonder what BMW think about that !) The very quick Toyota Supra also got an up close & personel look at the MINI's grille in it's mirrors exiting several turns & later it's tail-lights. The #20 car also turned the 2nd fastest lap time of the race so the speed is definitely there . They are doing a great job against some very quick factory backed teams. I think they are due a win soon.
The track & facilities at Barber Motorsports Park are awesome & live up to the hyperbole. Well worth the drive to anyone in the Atlanta or Mid-South area. The hammer& tongs battle between the Boxter & the Z-4 at the end was one of the best races I've seen in years. Side by side in the rain through many turns . See it on SPEED channel on 5/31 & get out to the remaining races & support the MINI's if they come to your region

I agree. Nuzzo's team seems to still be getting used to the cars and as they get the tuning down, I think they will do very well. I saw the #20 car in qualifying make some good moves, especially around the central hairpin turn.
I think they are going to do well as time goes on!
Good Luck Nuzzo Motorsports!

Lots of credit to the excellent driving of the Nuzzo teams. I had the opportunity to watch these guys as an F&C worker at various points around the track over the four day weekend. While the 21 car was plagued by a mis-fire problem all weekend, the 20 car was STRONG! It was running in 1st when it had a mechanical failure. These guys will have a win soon.
To the Nuzzo team, a big ATTABOY for showing the other guys that you've got what it takes, both in machinery and talent. I hope you enjoyed your visit to our new park.
Ya'll come back real soon now, ya' hear.

Turns out the #20 car had an early 10s penalty for "having improper equipment on the fire bottle man."

I just got back home. This was a very special week for all of us at Nuzzo Motorsports. I will follow up with my usual post race report in the next day or so. But I want to thank Andrew for helping out and for letting us use his MINI in the Speed Channel feature comparing the race MINI to the street MINI. This will air as part of the race program May 31st at 1PM ET.
It was a busy weekend and I was thrilled to meet so many MINI fans. The Fan turn out at BMSP was incredible considering the heavy rains, lightning and tornado threats.
As for the corner workers you guys are the best. You do a fantasic job in adverse conditions. I hope you saw me wave as I went by.
Its true the 20 car was leading when we lost all electrical power. This was caused by the ps pump drawing to many amps for our systems. We could have won or at least been on the podium.
Thanks to all for your support.
See you at the races
