Greetings!
I happened to pick up my newest mini (and first non-lease, after two of those heartbreakers):
13 PW/BC MCC R55, ClubVan
Found it in NC and drove it back up to Vermont on Black Friday. It was amazingly well taken care of, and only 60k miles.
The panels and other factory features are pretty fun so far - folks have no idea that I can HAUL stuff in this little buggy.
Planning to get it vinyl wrapped, but can’t decide on color vs straight up Nerd Van (with wizards and dragons and stuff).
Here we are in NC, my father supervising the temp plate process.
Super excited about this guy.
Considering switching out the head unit, hopefully for something that’ll have some capability for a backup camera and/or better Bluetooth audio interface.
Any recommendations? I’ll do a quick search for posts already covering this too, just thought I’d check!
Congratulations on your great find. I hope you keep your father involved. (I know that fatherly look)
My dad got me interested in cars as a kid, taking me to car shows and letting me bother him while he worked on his own truck or bike. He lives 16 hours away now, but we’re in touch pretty regularly. As a bimmer guy, he’s been really supportive of my MINI journey right from the first advertisement we saw in Rolling Stone when BMW started up MINI in the states. I was just a high school kid at the time, so it’s been a long road to owning my own; super glad to have my dad around for the process. I’ll savor the time we’ve got while we’ve got it, that’s for sure.
I read up on that when trying to figure out a good price to haggle to - completely unnecessary price hike for a Clubman with seat delete and cage 😕
That said, I got mine for well within typical Clubvan Blue Book price, so the Chicken Tax didn’t work against me in the end!
Thats good. I have only seen like a couple in person. I got to see a euro version that MINIUSA showed me personally a while back. It was a euro version so they could not even drive it on the streets, they pulled it around with a trailer.
