Hi all,
New to the forums but not so much the car. It is an 09 Cooper JCW with about 85k miles on it. I have previously been an older Audi guy but have had my eyes on this car in particular for near a decade now. I will hopefully be finding some things to add a little pep to it. All around it handles beautifully and is quick as it is. Thanks for letting me in
10 years. That is a long time to think about getting a car....
Well, at least you did, and it looks like a great one.
Nicely optioned out too from what I can see. JCW areo package, sharp wheels, and being a’09, I think it came with a mechanical LSD.
But, even being a JCW, it doesn’t have enough power?
I know, there never is enough power....
Welcome to the forum. Glad you finally were able to get into one. I know I coveted Mini’s for years before I finally got one. That’s a nice one too! Power is never enough, ha ha. There are things to be done for that, as I’m sure you have found. An ECU remap will net you the biggest performance jump for the money. Bigger turbo is another popular upgrade.
Personalize it to make it yours and drive the hell out of it! Cheers
Thanks guys, yeah almost 10.. It was a family members and I told them when they got it new that it couldn't go to anyone else but me when they decided to get rid of it. It really is a nice machine. I'm already starting to read into the possible tunes and hardware that can be used to give it a little more.
There is a lot of good info to be had here on NAM. There are threads for Alta AxcessPort and Manic tunes, plus several others doing tunes for these. Glad to see you jumping in with both feet with this car. While you are at it, might I suggest that being a 10 year old car it could do with new shocks and a set of IE fixed camber plates will make the car even more lovable.
Enjoy!
