New Houston TX R53 owner here

Hello all,

I recently purchased an 05 R53 here in Houston TX. I have been lurking through the forums on this site for a while and appreciate all of the info I have found so far. I have a laundry list of things I need to do to the car but am grateful to be here and have this resource available.

Tim

Here is the only pic I have right now. Just ordered delrin bushings from WMW hopefully that fixes the tensioner rattle if not new tensioner is next. Doing rear brakes tomorrow. Need to do the valve cover gasket but am holding off to do it the supercharger service and pulley swap at the same time. I use this as my commuter 120 miles a day.

A nice Chili red with a white top! Make sure to change the trans oil and engine oil with synthetic oils!
Lots of help here, when you need it!

Hi Tim, Welcome to NAM and congrats on the recent purchase. As another member posted, that Chilli red with the white top looks very nice.

Thanks all. Just got my delrin bushings from WMW. The old rubber ones were definitely shot unfortunately the gas shock they go on seems to have no resistance left to it so I guess the cheap fix isn't going to work and looks like I need to order a new tensioner.

Finally was able to make contact with the vinyl stripe company that I had purchased the original ones I put on the car after taking the white ones off. I got the separate pieced again 4.5" wide black stripe but 3/8" wide silver stripes this time to give it a bolder. Installed with "wet" method first this time since I learned my lesson the hard way last time. Luckily it came out really good without any major screw ups.

I moved the OEM front plate holder down to the upper mounting holes so it wouldn't cover the lower JCW style black grill. I think I like this better that I had it mounted before.
