HI all,

Figured I'd finally join the forums after owning/working on my wife's R56 2010 silver hatch for the last 5 years or so. Bought in Jan 2013 with 11,000 km currently at 96,000km.

Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew, Welcome to the forum. Happy to have you in the forum. With 5 years of experience, I bet you will have a lot to contribute. Do you have any pictures and stories to share?

Now to the real question: What can we do to get you in a MINI yourself?

miniCPA,

Thank you! I am the labourer for my wife (she loves this car), mostly performing routine maintenance, not knowing anything about Mini's when we bought it I laughed at the 15,000 mile suggested oil change interval so I've never followed that (thank god). I have done all 4 brake rotors and pads once. This past year has given me the most challenges with this car. Got the common P0128 - changed the stat but also did coolant pipe and water pump while I was at it, flushed with OEM coolant - SEP 2017. Changed out timing chain tensioner/valve cover gasket (chain guides still look great) and engine cooling fan - MAY 2018. Just yesterday finished swapping out leaking radiator, swapped out coolant temp sensor with OEM (P0128 keeps coming back) as well as a new drive belt. While I was at it I did notice that the front crash bar and support rails were rusting so I sanded those down, repainted and applied a rust preventer as well as buffing and protecting the headlights which were getting hazy. I already own too many cars myself so it'll be just one Mini but we hope to get a few more years out of this one.

Car is Silver 6spd all tinted out with almost every black jack accessory in and out you can buy from minimania lol...

Hi and welcome to the NAM family.
I don't know if your wife's car is manual, or automatic, but if it is an automatic and you get the chance to drive a stick shift model, you will be adding another for yourself.

Welcome to the Forum from Texas. You'll find just about every problem/issue ever experienced with a MINI has been solved and posted somewhere on this site. Good luck!

Congrats to your wife for being a real car enthusiast!
Automatics don't give you the feel that Mini intended! (that is not to say they have no place)

Here is the Mini, can anyone tell me what model these wheels are from? We bought them loose never saw the car they came off of, they originally had winter tires mounted that we switched to the OEM wheels, these had some curb rash so last winter I had them repaired and powder coated, we then put on the Mini black jack centre cap stickers.....
