New to the MINI world!

Hi all

Not sure if there's a template for these introductory threads, so I'll just wing it. Hi everyone! My name is Joe. My finacée and I are looking to upgrade our car in the spring or summer of 2019, after we save up once we're done with our wedding and honeymoons. I've looked at several makes and models and one of our top choices is the MINI. I'm dead set on going with the larger version (Clubman or Countryman) and the JCW trim, so I decided to youtube some clips and reviews and instantly fell in love with it. I didn't pay attention to what model was in the video I saw (TheStraightPipes on youtube) so when I went to price one out for the hell of it, I noticed that the exhaust was different. I went back to the vid and finally realized they reviewed the 2 door Hardtop JCW. I'm hoping that the JCW exhaust is pretty much the same across all JCW model/trims except for their placement.

Anyway, I'm excited to research some more about MINI and hopefully I will be able to officially join the MINI family in 2019!

This is the vid in case you're curious: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULK1Mq2RzZw

Will reserve the official welcome for when you have your JCW.

Both the Clubman and the Countryman are great handling vehicles. Throw in the JCW and you will have a great handling along with a well performing vehicle. Would think the JCW exhaust sound would be very similar across the model line.

Greetings ...

Both models are exceptional, but I preferred the Countryman at time of purchase .. yet either choice and you can't go wrong.

Welcome to the forum. Since you have time, make sure you test drive all possible options - maximize the free fun.

As an accountant, I am impressed by your self restraint and not pushing to make a purchase before you can afford to make it. Congratulations.

Who cares about the dishes and silverware - can you register for wedding gifts with any of the NAM forum vendors?

It's been a minute since I was last here. After some talking with the wife(!!), we decided to indulge my desire for the Mini Cooper but still be able to continue saving, mainly for a house. So in the end, I purchased a 2016 MCS, and It's absolutely amazing! I'm currently getting the JCW tuning kit thrown on it, which will be more than plenty of power for me, as the MCS is plenty fast as is. The Countryman was nice but the smaller MCS was more enjoyable. I did have to compromise and go with the 4DR version though, haha.

So glad to be part of the Mini family!
