How do people pay each other for private member sales?

Usually PayPal. That's all I've ever used unless it's a face to face sale.

I like using a loan since it gives confidence in the money. My bank writes a blank check good up to the pre-approved amount, and then I fill it out, or the seller can request payment directly from them.

If paypal is used, it suggested that the "family/friend" option not be used as if there ae any issues thinking that paypal will not get involved.
