New (to us) Mini Owner 2008 S

Just picked up this Dark Silver/Black roof Cooper S for my daughter's first car. She's in love with it! She and her mom took it shopping Saturday and my daughter asked my wife if she'd trade it for her Cadillac (2011 CTS-V). She at least hesitated before saying "no."!
It's a low mileage car (57k) with the 6-speed. Only issue so far is the LCD display is failing in the radio. Haven't decided yet whether to replace the LCD or just go for a Double-DIN aftermarket unit.

Anyway, Thanks for adding me. I'm a lifelong car guy but this is my first non-American car, so be patient with me.

1936 Chevy 2 door sedan (chopped, bagged, LS powered)
1977 Chevy C30 Crew Cab dually (turbocharged 6.0 LS in progress, soon to be lowered)
2011 Cadillac CTS-V sedan (the wife's car)
1999 Jeep Wrangler
Mako 282 center console (what the dually pulls)

Welcome to NAM.

Be sure to change the oil every 5,000 miles and then be sure to change it every 5,000 miles as you have the N14 engine.

Hello and welcome. As for the stock radio display on the Gen 2 MINIs check out this easy, less expensive fix. Then tend to do this on the 2007-2010 Gen 2 MINIs with the stock speed/ head unit. Its like a old BMW issue.

Thanks, ECSTuning. That's the direction I'm leaning. I already have a Pioneer Double Din touchscreen unit sitting in my garage that I pulled from one of my previous vehicles. That's the ONLY reason I was considering the swap.

Welcome. Yea, if its right there and you have it you could do the swap. If you want to keep it OEM, then the alpine LCD is the way to go.

Welcome to NAM.

Hmmm, Dark Silver/Black sounds like a looker. Post a Pic or two.

CTS-V two too many doors for me but another nice car.

Motor On!
