New R53 Owner in Orlando
New R53 Owner in Orlando
Hi guys, long time BMW owner here. I have a 2002 M3 that is a NASA TT3 car, but the wife and I wanted something she can learn to AutoX and have some fun on the street. The BMW is still streetable, but it's gotten to the point where it's almost annoying to drive on the street, but damn is it fun around a track! My wife was also in a Mini ad a few years back, we have always had a soft spot for these cars. So here we are.
Anyways, I had searched all over FL for a decently clean one with really no avail. It has 85k miles on it. Some of these cars are BEAT man! One popped up on my radar at a Mini dealer a few hours away, so i hooked up the trailer and shot down to look at it. The dealer was awesome and let me get under it for my own visual inspection. To my surprise, it had a Borla S exhaust, Alta pulley, Alta V2 intercooler. I'm finding out these are pretty expensive parts for a mini! Anyways, I scored it for $4500. Felt pretty good about the price given the dealer offering it, miles, parts and maint history. Looking forward to learning more about these cars and having some fun with it!

Hi and welcome to the NAM family! Congrats on your MCS!
Cool being in the commercial, but cooler to own and drive one of these R53 models. They Rock and give you the feel that Mini expects you to get! (like a go kart)
Although your coolant tank looks ok, they are an area of concern and many of us go to either a new OEM tank, or an aluminum after market tank. Another area of concern is leaky power steering hoses and there may even be factory recalls on the passenger seat belt pressure switch and the power steering. These are free repairs that a MINI dealer will do for you, if they are open recalls.
You car looks well maintained and you got a smokin deal on it for $4500!
If you use the last 7 numbers of your vin# and put it in here, it will give you all the factory equipment and what options came with your car: http://bimmer.work/

It is black. Little dirty from the ride home, need to do a full detail when my race car is back on the ground.
Thanks, much appreciated. I feel like I got a good deal, especially with the mods and the condition of the car. There's a few things here and there that need to be addressed but nothing pressing. The AC is very loud (fluctuates with RPM), but I am seeing that is semi normal around here.
Will do.
Thanks!
